In an instant, Nyx’s eyes brightened, as if she saw hope. 

She struggled with all her might, shouting. “Zayne!”

Nyx froze, her body stiffening. 

After going through the first trial, she had assumed that all trials would involve taking on the form of an animal. She never expected that she could actually turn into a human.
