Felix had spent nearly half his life grappling with danger on the battlefield, but he had never felt such sheer panic. 

The worst–case scenario had indeed come to pass. 

He had explicitly told Theon and Zayne not to let Nyx know about his loss of control. 

Yet, upon waking, he found Nyx lying right beside him, fast asleep and utterly defenseless against him. 

Upon seeing her serene face, Felix’s heart melted, and he couldn’t help but move closer, though his thoughts were a chaotic 

mess. 

For a fleeting moment, he even envisioned a future where Nyx and Theon were partners, and he would have to stand by, watching them affectionately interact right in front of him as an elder. 

His emotions quickly spiraled out of control again. 

After losing control, his actions were no longer within his grasp. 

Felix transformed back into his human form and, regardless of Theon and Zayne’s presence, knelt heavily on the ground. 

He was willing to accept any punishment, but no amount of apology could undo what had been done. 

Females detested males who were rude and forceful, and his actions had been the epitome of rudeness. 

Felix dared not look up at Nyx, expecting her cold glare and angry 

rebuke. 

But instead of the imagined disdain, Nyx gently touched his hair “It’s okay, Felix. Everything is fine now.” 

The gentler she was, 

the more Felix blamed himself. 

Along with self–reproach came an indescribable pain. 

‘Does she treat me this leniently because she sees me as an elder he wondered. 

Noticing the flicker of pain in Felix’s eyes and sensing his rising agitation, Nyx instinctively threw her arms around him. “Calm down, Felix.” 

The pleasant scent enveloped Felix, momentarily blanking his mind. 

Her slender, delicate arms created a warm, cozy space. He pressed close to Nyx’s soft body, not daring to move, and could clearly hear her steady, gentle heartbeat. 

All the noise faded away; it was as if everything had been put on pause, and his Loss of Control Index stopped rising. Felix involuntarily slowed his breathing, not wanting to disturb his dreamlike moment. 

‘Why did Nyx hug me? Does she feel sorry for me? Or… he wondered. 

Felix, usually strong–willed, was mired in anxious self–doubt but couldn’t help but feel a glimmer of hope. 

Under Felix’s tense gaze. Nyx slightly loosened her embrace, cupped his face with both hands, hesitated for two seconds and then leaned down to place a soft kiss on his forehead.

In that instant, Félix’s breath caught. 

No words were needed; that pure, innocent kiss said everything. 

He had turned a disaster into a blessing and finally earned his way in.

Felix felt as if he had been granted a reprieve. His blood surged through his veins, his eyes sparkled with ecstatic joy, and his chest heaved. 

“You should rest for a while, Felix,” Nyx soothed. “You’ve lost control twice since last night; you must be exhausted.” 

Males typically didn’t experience two losses‘ of control in such a short span. Felix’s situation was highly unusual. 

Known for his ruthlessness over decades, he now had more intense emotional fluctuations than anyone 

else. 

Nyx couldn’t help but worry. “If this keeps up, will you be able to work normally?” Though she didn’t fully understand, she knew the power dynamics within the Beastmen Empire were far from harmonious. 

It hadn’t been easy for Felix to rise to the position of marshal, with countless eyes on him. If he developed a habit of losing control, it would be easy for others to use it against him. 

But Felix shook his head and chuckled softly. “Don’t worry.” 

His voice was hoarse as he took Nyx’s hand and placed it on his chest, his amber eyes brimming with intense emotion. His powerful heartbeat thudded through her palm into her heart. 

“Nyx, I only lose control for you,” he said. 

Too excited to sleep, Felix’s eyes remained wide open despite the lingering effects of the tranquilizer. 

He reluctantly rested under Nyx’s watchful eye for just the afternoon, and by evening, he was up and about, his gaze constantly following Nyx. 

Had he not feared annoying her, he would have followed her every step. 

Nyx sighed. “Then come with me on an errand, Felix.” 

“Sure,” Felix nodded eagerly, ready in an instant. “Where do you want to go?” 

‘Shopping? The auction house? A jewelry exhibition? The new restaurant on Central Planet?‘ he thought. 

“To Holy Ground. I want to visit the Divine Tree,” Nyx said, opening her Intelligent Brain and showing him the permit. “I just got the clearance to enter Holy Ground.” 

The answer took Felix by surprise. He paused for a moment, then realized, “You worship the Beast God?” 

It seemed he still didn’t know Nyx well enough to have missed such important information. 

Nyx touched her nose, feeling a bit guilty but not denying his guess. 

She wasn’t exactly a worshipper of the Beast God, she was, in fact the child of the Beast God. That identity, like her being a time traveler, was a secret she needed to keep buried for now

Thinking of the photos on Felix’s bedside table, Nyx suddenly had an idea.

“Felix, where did you get those custom photo frames of mine? How long does it take to make them?” she asked as they boarded the flyer. 

The frames were clearly not mass–produced. 

Felix’s ears turned a little red, thinking she was teasing him. He didn’t answer for a while. 

“Come on, tell me. I want to get some custom photos of myself made too,” Nyx urged. 

“Why? Are you planning to give them as gifts?” Felix asked, lowering his eyes. 

“Yes, sort of,” Nyx said thoughtfully. “When I visit the Divine Tree again, I want to give it a gift.” 

She couldn’t always be by the Divine Tree’s side, so she wanted the photos to be a substitute, offering some comfort to the 

tree. 

Felix was stunned for a moment. ‘Give it to the Divine Tree? How could the Divine Tree possibly accept a gift from her?‘ he thought. 

Though puzzled by Nyx’s whimsical idea, as long as it wasn’t for another male, Felix was relieved. He did as Nyx wished and took her to the shop. 

An SSS–level female was always the center of attention wherever she went. 

In contrast, the mighty Beastmen Empire Marshal following her was reduced to a supporting role. 

Felix, however, was more than happy to take on the role of bodyguard, constantly on guard for any potential dangers around Nyx. 

The journey was uneventful until they reached the shop’s entrance.
