As soon as we enter, King's gaze snaps to mine, and the tension hits like a sucker punch. Most people wouldn't catch it, but I know him well enough to tell that he's fucking pissed. The scar over his eye tightens and pulses, twitching with every second we've been gone too long.
Oops. I definitely fucked up.
"Hi princess," Alyssa coos, taking Zuri from King's arms.
King's rumbles low, planting a kiss on her cheek. "Good morning, kitten. Took you a while to get up, huh?" The slight edge to his voice is unmistakable.
Alyssa flushes immediately, averting his intense gaze. "Um...yeah," she mutters.
Shit. We need to work on her poker face.
King rises with slow, measured movements, each step he takes toward me full of purpose. When he stops in front of me, he doesn't say a word. He just grabs me by the back of my neck, and crushes his lips against mine. His kiss is punishing, demanding, and my knees damn near buckle under the heat of it. His tongue explores my mouth, searching for the evidence I know he's looking for.
When he pulls back, his eyes are dark with rage and something else. "Bold of you to taste her without my permission."
I swallow hard. "Sorry, Daddy. I couldn't help myself."
He clicks his tongue, his expression hardening. "I know. Your punishment can wait until later. Yours too, kitten."
Shit, I got her in trouble too. We're going to have so much fun tonight.
"What? Why me? I was sleeping!" Alyssa protests, her pout adorable.
King's eyes narrow, a dangerous glint in them. "Because if I kiss you, I'll taste him on your tongue. You were plenty awake for that."
Her cheeks are bright red, filled with a mix of shame and arousal. "Maybe," she whispers, her eyes darting away.
King grunts, satisfied. "That's what I thought." He then gets back on topic. "We need to get going, but I need you to eat something first."
Alyssa frowns. "I'm not really hungry."
"And I didn't really ask," King snaps. "Niko made you come on an empty stomach. I know you're nervous about going to the clubhouse, but you need something in your system."
