Of the Internet stories I have ever read, perhaps the most impressive one is Claimed By The Lycan King (Kaia). The story is too good, leaving me with many doubts. Currently, the manga has been translated to The Perfect Distraction. Let's read the author's Claimed By The Lycan King (Kaia) Internet story right here.
Chapter 37
Kieran
The sound of someone knocking jolted me awake, having dozed off while working. I resisted the urge to groan at the disturbance.
“Come on in” I called, adjusting myself properly on the chair.
“Alpha,” Caleb greeted, making his way towards me. He was looking just as tired as I was. But while his own was probably because of patrol, mine was having to deal with my mom and also making sure that Kaia was okay, not thinking about what she heard.
I was disappointed that my mom would suggest keeping Kaia around and have another woman be my Luna. I couldn't be more wrong when I told Kaia that my parents would love her.
“What's up?” I asked, gently massaging my temple to help with the headache that was quickly forming.
“I want to give you a run down of patrol last night, but I can come back." His eyes took in all the papers scattered all over my desk.
“It’s fine, What do you have for me?” I ask, tearing my eyes away from the papers and sitting up straight.
“There was an attack early this morning, two rogues…nothing serious and they're being held right now.”
I nodded, although I could sense a ‘but’ coming.
"They're different from who we're looking for.”
A pang of disappointment crossed my eyes. Whoever this person was, he was going to regret his decisions when I finally lay my hands on him.
Since there has been no movement from him, it was impossible to track him. I was a bit confused, it didn't look like he was working for anyone…and if he was, they were taking their time showing up.
“How did the warriors assigned for patrol take the news?” I asked, changing the topic.
“They love it, they think it's fair and would allow everyone to always be fresh before their patrol shift” He responds and I gave him a once over.
“Of course you do” I said offhandedly and heard him choke.
“I'll tell Ryder to send you the information you asked of him and a report on this, I'll take my leave now Alpha “ And he left the office quickly as I laughed.
The patrol now was more secure than the last time when I had them all spread out around the border. I was going to catch this rogue by whatever means possible.
Now alone once again, I threw myself into work, but occasionally, I found my mind drifting off to Kaia. What she was doing, if she was no longer thinking about my mom.
And I know she said she was okay, and claims she was ready to work, a part of me didn't believe that.
A thought suddenly hits me, “I should do something special for her." But the question was what exactly.
“Ryder?” I called through the mind link and his response was almost immediate.
“Yes Alpha,” he replied.
“Help me out here, let's say I want to do something special for Kaia, to take her mind off everything, what will you suggest?"
He paused, "I'm not sure…” he trailed, "you can decide to buy something for her, one that has value.”
He went ahead to mention a list of things that were feasible to get, but none of them seem like something Kaia would like. She refuses to go shopping sometimes knowing fully well that I owned it.
“I am right here, you know” King said, his voice holding so much disapproval.
“And..?” I asked, my brows furrowing in confusion. I didn't forget he was there in the first place.
“You didn't think to ask me? Ryder doesn't have a mate and you expect him to be of help?”
I rolled my eyes at him, "we both know your idea doesn't involve going outside the four corners of our room. “
