Of the Internet stories I have ever read, perhaps the most impressive one is Claimed By The Lycan King (Kaia). The story is too good, leaving me with many doubts. Currently, the manga has been translated to Alpha's Dilemma. Let's read the author's Claimed By The Lycan King (Kaia) Internet story right here.
Chapter 80
Kieran's POV
As I sat in my office, waiting for Caleb who thinks he'd found something, my mind played over the conversation with my parents the previous day. My dad, who showed up unexpectedly after being away for an even longer time than my mom.
He was disappointed that I would speak to his mate-my mom that way and I was also disappointed that even now, he would take her side but whatever disappointment they were feeling was the last thing I wanted to deal with at the moment.
Although neither she nor my dad offered an explanation for the incident with the witches which led to their banishment and if anything, it made me realize that I was right about something not making sense.
And because of that, I was looking at it all wrong.
“Alpha," Caleb called, snapping me out of my thoughts as he entered the room, his expression not giving away what he might've found. He took the seat in front of me and beside Ryder who had being in a mood all day.
“What did you find?" I asked him as he made himself comfortable.
He pushed the files he was holding towards me, "I did some findings, and the report from the doctor confirmed it." He started.
I nodded, waiting for him to continue. My eyes skim through the report and I paused when I saw what I was looking for.
“That was my reaction too." He said, “he ran an analysis on the small amount of poison he got on one of the victims, and he confirmed that there was a trace of Lycan’s blood." He explained.
Ryder leaned forward, grabbing the report. His expression mirroring mine as he read through it. “This is impossible!" He exclaimed.
“My thoughts exactly." Caleb said, “but apparently, a witch cast a spell on it. There's also wolfsbane in it, which makes it a deadly combination."
"Lycan blood?” King asked, "how is that possible if there are only a few of you left?”
None of it made sense, but it was the only explanation why it affected me so much. And as much as I wanted to disagree with the report, so far, it's our best bet at actually finding something. But Lycan's blood is where I was finding it hard to wrap my head around.
“You don't think this is their way of trying to take away your position?” Ryder asked.
"I doubt,”
After most of them found their mate, they were not Lycan. Although high ranked and when they had children, they were half Lycan and I don't think that was what we were dealing with right now. Although my parents were lucky to find each other, my dad was also the right heir after his own Dad so there was no power play anywhere.
“I don't think so either." Caleb agreed.
“Check their recent activity, of anyone with the blood flowing through them." I ordered. “Help him out on this one, I need it before the end of tomorrow." I told Ryder.
They nodded and stood up to leave, but the door swung open, and Kaia entered. The smile on my face was quickly wiped off when I saw who was behind her.
“I know what you're thinking," she started, “but just hear me out before you decide to throw him back in the dungeon." She said and his head jerked to her.
Caleb and Ryder turned to look at me, waiting for my command and I nodded. Despite King's wish and my better judgement, I was letting him have a bit of freedom. For Kaia's sake and so that his wolf would work faster with the wolfsbane in his body.
“What is it, Bella?" I asked.
My hand was itching to pull her closer and just forget all of this drama. She'd barely slept the previous day. I could tell she felt bad after witnessing what happened with my parents but unlike other times, her emotions were stable which was a relief.
