The speakerphone was on. Jeremy could clearly hear the affection in the man's voice as he spoke to Stella.

"Jeremy? Why do you ask about him?"

Stella replied, "Just wondering, do you think he's a good guy?"

When Ronald spoke again, his tone had notably shifted.

With a cold voice, he asked, "Star, do you like him?"
