When they walked in, Roland’s body lay still on the operating table.

Pierre wrapped his arms around Selena’s waist, unsure of how to comfort her.

“All right. I know you had your pride to protect. It must have been difficult for you to move back to the old house after our family went bankrupt. You’re free from those troubles now. Don’t worry. I will hold a proper funeral for you and carry out every ritual you would’ve wanted. If you got to reincarnate, Dad, I hope you’d be a good man next time and treat your wife and children well.”

Selena calmly pulled the white sheet over Roland’s body.

“You jerk! How could you just die like this? You left me all alone to endure the pain. How could you!” Jezebelle gasped for breaths in between her wailing. She glared at Selena and moved to strike her, only to be blocked by the bodyguard.
