Clara and Drew had never imagined they would find themselves in such a luxurious establishment. The gentleman had told them that the net worth of the average patron here was at least billion dollars, a figure they had never even contemplated in their lives.

As they walked in, they were greeted by the sight of a grand mansion, an expansive swimming pool, and a sprawling golf course stretching out into the distance.

They were simple folks from a small county with no knowledge of golf. They merely marveled at the scenic hills, far more beautiful than the ones back in their village.

"Maja, stay right there! Why don't you come to greet your father and me?" Clara called out.

Maja frowned, realizing that someone must have arranged for them to be there. She turned around yet refrained from harsh words due to the results of the paternity test. In Windhelm, blood ties could be a tricky affair.

Clara, dressed in the uniform of the house staff, and Drew, in a security guard's outfit, looked decidedly out of place amid the elegantly dressed guests. Unfazed, Clara began to berate Maja.

"We still haven't settled the score for throwing us out of your company. While you're here enjoying this fancy party, do you know where we slept last night? Under a bridge because the hotels here are too expensive, and you were unwilling to arrange accommodation for us. Maja, you're so heartless! I nearly died giving birth to you."

While Clara continued her tirade, Maja simply averted her gaze, "You claim I'm your daughter, yet all you want is a million dollars and for me to get my incarcerated brother out. Even others who want to use me at least try to disguise their intentions. You don't really believe blood ties are some sort of valuable commodity, do you?"

Clara didn't quite grasp Maja's words. She fell back on her old tactics and sat on the floor, "Maja, we came all this way. If you don't give us an answer, we're not leaving!"

No sooner had she finished speaking than Mia's voice rang out, "Who dared to make such a scene at a Haskins family event? How disrespectful."

Although Mia was afraid of Maja, this seemed like an excellent opportunity to put her in her place. After all, this was the Haskins family's event. What could Maja do to her?
