Ryan was a bit puzzled, but the moment he heard his mom was in a car accident, he immediately got dressed to dash out. 

His phone was on the bed, switched to speaker mode, and the driver’s voice came through. 

“Mr. Elston, Ms. Raymond wants you to check up on your girlfriend She’s also hurt and should be at the police station right now. Ms. Raymond said you don’t need to come see her.” 

Rita was planning to cling onto Ryan in a cutesy way to keep him from leaving, but when she heard the driver mention “girlfriend“, she froze. 

She hadn’t met Ms. Raymond yet, so the girlfriend Ms. Raymond was talking about definitely wasn’t her. 

She looked at Ryan puzzled, but all he could think of was getting to the hospital. Finally, he figured out who the “girlfriend” the driver was talking about was. 

It was Penny. 

He had once had Penny pretend to be his girlfriend.. 

But he didn’t have time to explain. He put on his coat, bent down, and kissed Rita lightly on the lips. 

“Honey, wait for me here obediently. I’ll go out for a while.” 

Rita felt a bit resentful. She knew Ms. Raymond didn’t like the women around Ryan, so she was always afraid of someone ruining their relationship. 

“Ryan, can I go with you?” 

Ryan replied straightforwardly, “I’ll take you to meet my mom next time. Not this time. I will go first.” 

Rita opened her mouth, but didn’t find it appropriate to say anything more. 

Suddenly, the room felt empty. Rita was a small–time employee who only worked the front desk at the Raymond Corporation. Being with Ryan was an accident, but she genuinely liked him. 

She couldn’t wait to meet Maureen, and thought about Maja, who had once comforted her, and the friendship between Maja and 

Ryan. 

So, Rita put on her clothes and went to Maja’s door, ringing the bell. 

But no one opened the door. Rita refused to leave and waited there. 

It wasn’t until two hours later that Maja came back. 

After dealing with the affairs of police station, she came back home to tidy up before going to see Ms. Raymond. 

But the moment she stepped out of the elevator, she saw a woman standing at her door and instantly felt a headache coming on. Rita’s eyes lit up when she saw her. 

“Penny!” 

She quickly approached, asking urgently. 

“I heard Ryan’s mom had a car accident, and he’s already gone to the hospital. Can you help me find the specific room number at the hospital? I want to go see her.” 

Maja was planning to go home, clean up, and then head to the hospital, but now Rita was clinging to her. If she went with Rita, and if Ms. Raymond said something, Rita might hold it against her. 

Now that Rita was her neighbor, if things got out of hand, they could become unmanageable. 

Maja immediately felt a headache. Even after moving out of Rosewood Manor to here, she still hadn’t found peace. 

If she refused Rita directly, it would make things awkward with Ryan since Rita was his girlfriend. 

Maja rubbed her temples. 

“I’ll let you know once I find the room number. Give me your cell number.”

Maja went back into her room, feeling utterly drained. 

After all, Kim wasn’t the only one who had been scared. 

She filled the bathtub, planning to take a bath and then immediately apologize to Ms. Raymond. 

But she fell asleep directly in the tub. 

It wasn’t until a knock came from outside the door that she woke up dazed. 

She put on her clothes next to her, walked to the living room with her head feeling heavy.
