Carlene was just standing at the door, utterly oblivious to the scene. Even if she had noticed, she wouldn’t think lan did it on 

purpose. 

After all, lan’s always been as cold as ice, showing little interest in women. He wouldn’t stoop to such childish tactics to get 

attention. 

She walked out, the office door closing behind her, leaving her staring at Maja’s face. 

You can’t deny it; the woman was drop–dead gorgeous. Even when she first looked at her, she was somewhat captivated by her beauty. 

No wonder Dana warned her to be careful. If a woman like this set her sights on lan, he might still be attracted even if he 

didn’t fall for it. 

Carlene looked over at Dana, whose eyes glued to the door, clearly expecting something. 

Seeing Maja come out with her/Dana’s eyes 

lit up instantly. 

“What’s up?” 

“lan asked me to check out the house. He wanted my input. Why don’t you come along?” 

A look of joy mixed with jealousy crossed Dana’s face. 

So he’s accepted her status, huh? After all, he did ask her to check out the house. 

Feeling a pang of jealousy, Dana looked at Maja, looking for a chance to vent. 

“Did you hear that? You’re Mr. Raymond’s designer, aren’t you? Lead the way.” 

Maja didn’t want to argue; she nodded politely, “After you.” 

Carlene smiled, then followed Maja. 

Dana trailed a few steps behind, a sour feeling in her heart. 

She also liked lan. To be precise, everyone liked a man like lan. 

He’s so handsome; even a simple conversation with him could brighten one’s day. 

But now that Carlene was back, her chances were dwindling. She didn’t want to cause any trouble and have someone stir up animosity between them in front of Carlene. 

Once inside the elevator, Maja pressed the button for the first floor. 

The elevator only held the three of them. To annoy Maja, Dana deliberately steered the conversation towards lan. 

“Is lan going to marry you? He even involved you in decorating the house. I bet you’ve already picked out your wedding dress.” 

Carlene gave a gentle smile, and a hint of triumph was in her eyes, but she hid it well. 

“He hasn’t said anything yet, but I think it’s soon. Don’t tell anyone else about this yet. You know Holden has arranged another woman.” 

Dana immediately latched onto Carlene’s arm. 

“Don’t worry; apart from you, who else would care about that woman? She hasn’t been to the Raymond Corporation for years. They say only Holden cares about her. Even Ms. Casson speaks about her with resentment.” 

Carlene smiled again, her smile gentle, but Maja felt a sharp knife hiding behind it. 

“She told me we could arrange our wedding once lan divorced.” 

“Congratulations, no one can stop you now, especially since he likes you so much.” 

Carlene said nothing; she just smiled and looked triumphantly at Maja. 

Maja didn’t participate in their conversation. The elevator stopped on the first floor, and she was the first to get out. 

Dana’s cheeks flushed with anger. 

“Stop right there!” 

Maja paused, looking back in confusion, “What’s wrong?” 

Dana threw her bag at her and also tossed Carlene’s bag at her. 

“You’re in charge of showing us the house. You’re our servant; for now, carrying our bags should be part of your job.”
