The next day, Maja made another trip, to the hospital. 

She stepped into Glenn’s room after ensuring Cristina and Tricia were nowhere to be seen. 

But the tape recorder was gone, even though she had left it there just the day before. 

Cristina and Tricia were both in a state, so it seemed unlikely they would have noticed such a trivial thing. Could a nurse have taken it? 

She immediately started asking around, but after questioning several people, no one had seen her tape recorder. 

It wasn’t until she passed by Neil’s room that she bumped into Neil, who was on his way to the bathroom. 

Cristina was still in Neil’s room, watching his condition closely. Upon seeing Mája, she was ready to pounce. But Maja just headed straight to the nurse’s station, persisting in her search for the tape recorder. 

Despite her efforts, no one had seen it. 

When she returned to the corridor, she saw the bald man who had stopped her on the roadside for no apparent reason, insisting they should date, approaching from the other end of the hallway. 

“Maja.” 

The man was extraordinarily attentive. He had heard that the Pennyfeather family’s villa was incredibly expensive, so he was determined to woo Maja. He had real flowers this time, although he only brought one. 

“After thinking it over when I got home last time, I realized we were both a bit heated. I brought you a real flower this time; let’s make life good.” Neil happened to see this scene and was shaking with anger. 

“Maja, who is he?” 

The man did not recognize Neil and, seeing his frail condition, he got annoyed. 

“Who are you anyway? I’m Maja’s fiancé, and we plan to live our lives together. How can you call her in such an intimate way? You should show some respect to Maja!” 

Neil was shaking with anger, unable to utter a word. 

Cristina seized the opportunity to rebuke Maja. 

“You’re shameless, leading all these men on. Even Glenn was not spared. Now you’re with this guy; you’ve wasted all the years your father spent teaching, you! Your mother would probably regret giving birth to you if she knew!” 

As Cristina’s rebuke intensified, she raised her hand to slap Maja. 

She was still bitter about being hit the day before, and her face still bore the mark. 

But Maja swung her bag at Cristina, hitting her forehead hard and causing a wound. 

“See, that’s her true colors. I’ve been living in fear every day since you’ve been hospitalized. She’s the one who put Glenn in a coma. I can’t bear it anymore. What’s the point of living?” 

Cristina was about to bash her head against the wall as she spoke. 

Seeing this chaotic scene, Neil felt his vision blur and was about to faint. 

But he held on, raising his crutch to hit Maja. 

“Explain this! What’s going on!” 

The man saw Maja about to be hit and quickly pulled her into his arms, not missing the chance to take advantage of the situation. 

And Neil, seeing how close they were, only became more convinced of Cristina’s words. 

He never imagined Maja would be this kind of person! 

She had betrayed the Raymond family! 

Maja felt disgusted as the man forcibly held her; she kicked him hard in his private parts. He let out a scream and immediately crouched down in pain. 

The man groaned in pain, Cristina cried, and Maja couldn’t stand it anymore. 

Seeing Neil’s crutch flying towards her, her pupils suddenly contracted, and her shoulder took a painful hit. 

Then she looked up and saw a nurse not far away. The tape recorder was clipped to the pocket on her chest. 

Maja’s eyes turned red instantly, but she didn’t burst into tears. Instead, she approached the nurse and took the tape recorder. 

She would leave the hospital immediately without explaining anything if there was nothing in the tape recorder. Neil wouldn’t believe her anyway. 

However, there was indeed something in the tape recorder. She turned up the volume, and Cristina and Tricia’s voices were heard soon.
