After he left, Maja stood alone in the living room and zoned out for quite a while. 

Only when her stomach started growling did she touch her face, feeling as though it was on fire. 

She was even a bit out of breath. 

She slapped her face a bit, then went to the bathroom to splash cold water on her face before opening the refrigerator.
