“So it was Maja who left me there, and then I was violated by that man.” 

Her voice choked up when she got to this point. 

When she had passed out, Maureen had already seen Connie’s medical report. Her body had been severely injured, obviously suffering greatly in the process. “Connie, are you referring to lan’s ex–wife, Maja?” 

Connie nodded through her sobs, not wanting to say anything else. She wrapped herself up in a blanket.

Selena quickly explained, “Maja is actually from Crystalbrook Valley. She probably went shopping there while visiting her hometown, and she pushed Connie out to protect herself. She’s such a wicked woman! I can’t understand why Dad let such a woman marry lan. They’ve divorced, but she’s even using the Raymond family name to wreak havoc.” 

Hearing this, Maureen frowned deeply. 

Selena quickly said, “I’ll handle this. I’ll make Maja pay.” 

Maureen nodded and then sat down next to Connie, softly asking, “Do you want some water?” 

But Connie continued to hide in her blanket, crying and refusing to interact with anyone else. 

Once Selena found out this was related to Maja, she couldn’t hold back anymore. 

There can’t be that many coincidences in the world. Maja being there must mean that she followed lan. She must be trying to win lan back. What a lowlife! 

It seemed she still hasn’t given up! 

Selena took a deep breath, deciding to handle this woman in private. 

And she couldn’t let Maja continue using the Raymond family name. 

She quickly came up with a plan. 

In the evening, Selena planned to hold a party at the Raymond Mansion. 

She invited many socialites to attend..

Selena had a servant send Maja a message inviting her to a dinner at her home to discuss something.

With the uproar over Connie and Connie now awake and possibly revealing things in front of Holden, Maja assumed that’s why Holden wanted to see her. 

From Maja’s perspective, she wasn’t very clear about what had happened that day, only knowing that Connie had been hurt and held a grudge against her. 

She assumed that going to the Raymond family might lead to reproach from other members of the family. 

She hung her head and sighed softly. 

The reason she had taken Connie was because the Raymond family was so conspicuous in Greenfield. The kidnappers might have checked their information and knew the family structure well. If Connie was recognized, she might be killed, so Maja decided to hide Connie. 

Even if the kidnappers caught them and wanted to harm them, as long as she had that stamp as a bargaining chip, she and Connie would be safe.
