Of the Internet stories I have ever read, perhaps the most impressive one is Dear Ex-wife Marry Me (Maja and Ian). The story is too good, leaving me with many doubts. Currently, the manga has been translated to Chapter 809. Let's read the author's Dear Ex-wife Marry Me (Maja and Ian) Internet story right here.
Chapter 809
Maja got a call from Daly Elston’s company; they said some of Daly’s stuff was left unattended. Now that someone was handling his affairs, they reached out to
her.
Maja rushed over, sorting out Daly’s stuff from a pile of jumbled items.
Useless junk, really.
She held a small box, walking slowly from the side of Crystalbrook Valley’s river towards Riverside Haven.
She felt like she was being followed, but she wasn’t sure if it was just her imagination.
She scowled, looking back, but there was no one there.
She felt a chill run down her spine, so she quickened her pace. She was so tense that she tripped and fell down a riverbank while cutting across a strip of greenery. She slid five or six meters, but luckily, it didn’t hurt. She was about to get up when she heard an anxious voice from the roadside.
“Maja, are you okay?”
“Maja!”
Maja thought she had misheard and was about to respond when a man slid down from above.
The path was slippery, especially after last night’s rain, and it was all muddy.
lan had intended to run down, but he was wearing leather shoes and slipped ten meters, ending up even lower than Maja, with one foot already in the water. Maja was still standing in the greenery, her voice cold.
“What are you doing here?”
lan pretended to clean the mud off his trousers but didn’t answer.
Maja was angry, squeezing the box in her hand.
“lan, are you stalking me?”
“No.”
Then why are you here?”
“There were some issues with the project at Crystalbrook Valley; they asked me to come over. I didn’t notice you were here until I entered Riverside Haven.”
Maja was skeptical; she shot him a glance, then turned away, starting to climb back up.
lan walked out of the river; his trouser legs and shoes were all wet. He took a small path uphill. Maja was ahead of him, but she wasn’t on the small path, so she tripped on a branch and fell again. The box in her hand was thrown out, and she barely avoided hitting her chin on the ground.
lan rushed to her side, squatting down to help her up.
But she seemed not to see his extended hand and hurried to pick up the box instead.
lan’s hand hung in the air awkwardly for a while, and then he asked, “Am I some sort of scary virus?”
The night was dark, and the river flowed quietly. Spring was around the corner, but it was still a bit chilly.
“No, you’re not.”
He was about to breathe a sigh of relief when he heard her add, “You Raymonds are scarier than any virus.”
lan was at a loss for words.
He opened and closed his mouth, then withdrew his hand weakly.
He stood there for a few minutes before continuing uphill.
By the time he reached the roadside, Maja was already a hundred meters ahead.
He didn’t rush to catch up, keeping a safe distance.
Until they reached the entrance of Riverside Haven, a person in charge ran up to ask,
“Mr. Raymond, what happened?”
lan’s suit was covered in mud and fallen leaves, and his trousers were all wet.
“I’m fine.”
He walked toward his room. When he opened the door, he instinctively glanced at the room next door.
The door next door was tightly shut, and he had no idea what she was doing inside.
Maja tidied up Daly’s things, put the box aside, took a shower, and started working on company documents.
She tried contacting Wilma again to arrange a meeting.,
Wilma was still throwing à tantrum, insisting on meeting with Elvis.
Obviously, she wanted to see Elvis.
But Elvis would never meet her. He had already told Maja that he wouldn’t deal with Wilma, even if she came here in the future.
[Ms. Wilma, Mr. Elvis has other artists to manage right now; he might not have time to meet you.]
[Well then, we have nothing to talk about.]
