Feeling something was about to go down, Maja speculated there was going to be a whole lot of action in the company. 

Wilma, with her bubbly personality, was a total people–pleaser 

Once Wilma left, it was just Maja and Elvis in the office. 

Elvis seemed troubled, heaving a sigh. 

‘Mr. Pennyfeather, sorry about het. She doesn’t mean any disrespect. It’s just the way she is.” 

Maja found it amusing. 

“Well, I kind of like it. You might be overthinking it. 

“Without rules, it’s a hot mess. I tried teaching her at Simstar Entertainment, but she never changed. She’s going to get herself into trouble.” 

Maja nudged some documents on the desk. 

“This script she’s working on now, it’s just started filming. She’s the female lead, and I’ve read the script, it’s good. Once she’s done, the company will find a script that suits her better The drama Wilma was filming was PHOENIX, a historical war drama with intricate political intrigue and a real challenge for the leading lady. 

“Mr. Pennyfeather, I trust your script–picking skills, and I’ll keep a close eye on the other artists.” 

As a top agent, Elvis rarely missed the mark whoever he vouched for usually ended up making it big. 

That’s why Simstar Entertainment didn’t want him to leave despite all the drama he stirred up. 

Maja had complete faith in him, nodding in agreement. 

Wilma had just been sent off to the set with about three months left of filming. 

But on the way there, the director dropped a bombshell in the WhatsApp group, saying a new actress had joined as the second female lead, replacing the original one. 

Wilma smelled a rat. The new actress must have some serious backing to just waltz onto the set. 

After all, they’d been shooting for two weeks, and the former second lead had already filmed some scenes, Swapping her out now would mean reshooting all her scenes, which would cost a pretty penny, When Wilma arrived on set, she spotted Alma right away. 

Raised in the Casson family, Alma had a demure demeanor and looked perfect for the role with makeup on. 

Wilma was miffed at having to reshoot all the scenes with her, feeling it was a waste of her time. 

The director didn’t even bother discussing it with her, and he just ordered her to start filming.

Having dealt with all the company’s business, Maja was beaten. 

Star Movie Group has been swamped lately. The first drama, ‘The Storm,” had just wrapped up to rave reviews. Plus, the company was hiring, with resumes piling up. They were prepping for the second drama with plenty of funds but still short on a supporting cast, which meant sifting through tons of paperwork. 

When she drove back to Rosewood Manor, she found Maria looking panicked. 

‘Maria, what’s up?” 

“Ms. Pennyfeather, it’s bad, Coco’s gone!” 

Maja was taken aback. She had always let Coco roam freely. How could it just disappear? 

‘Did 

you check the surveillance footage?” 

“We did. A cat came in from outside this afternoon. We noticed that Coco had been unusually active lately; even dug a tunnel out from the corner of the wall and followed the cat out. We’ve looked everywhere nearby but couldn’t find it.” 

Dogs were known to be diggers. Maja had been worried about Coco being discovered ever since she divorced lan. 

Coco had a knack for digging up valuable plants in the garden, so it was kept within a fence. 

Now that Coco could dig whatever it fancied, who would’ve thought it’d dig a tunnel under the wall? 

Maja’s exhaustion vanished, replaced by worry. 

“I’ll go look for it right away. Maria, you take a break. I’ll get someone else to help me!”
