The girl’s face instantly contorted into a look of shock, so much so that she was left stunned. 

By the time she came back to her sense, lan had already taken off. 

The innocence in her eyes disappeared in an instant, replaced by a thoughtful look as she stared at his retreating figure. 

After a few seconds, her gaze turned curious. 

On closer inspection, it was also filled with a deep darkness. 

Her phone rang. It was a call from her family. 

“Sweetie, are you still out?” 

“Mom, I will be home soon.”

Feeling a bit under the weather after her hospital visit in the afternoon, she felt as if a mountain of pain was pressing down on her. 

She had been staying at Rosewood Manor for two days and had the property management team investigate who had installed so many cameras in RosenGarden. Despite their efforts, they found no clues. Even the cops suspected she was pulling a publicity stunt. 

With that many cameras, it’s impossible to install them all in such a short amount of time, and for Maja, the homeowner, to be clueless about it was even more impossible. 

Luckily, Maja had her alibi; she hadn’t spent much time there, and the property management could vouch for her. 

So, they had to drop the matter. 

During her stay at Rosewood Manor, she occasionally had nightmares about the ceilings filled with cameras, still giving her the heebie–jeebies and causing her to lose her appetite. 

In just two days, she had lost a good ten to fifteen pounds. 

When she returned to work, she found that all the roles for the next film had been filled, with the lead role going to a newbie from the company, a move to promote their own talent. 

Maja didn’t mind, and she simply made a payment to Meetman, gave Wilma a call reminding her of their previous agreement and washed her hands off the matter. -Meetman was well–prepared, having already decided on the location for the first round of shooting near Greenfield. 

Seeing that Maja was not in the best of moods, Zoey suggested, 

“Mr. Pennyfeather, why don’t you visit the set? Meetman has everything set up, and there are many other sets around. It might help you unwind.” 

Greenfield Cinema City was a popular location for shooting. At its busiest, over twenty crews were filming at once. 

“No need, get Shawn here. It’s about time we found him an endorsement deal.” 

Shawn was a bit excited when he was called in. His popularity was on the rise, and he was frequently trending. 

Before entering the office, he straightened his clothes and then knocked on the door. 

“Penny.” 

Realizing he might have addressed her incorrectly, he quickly corrected himself, “Mr. Penny feather.” 

Maja nodded, handing over an invitation and said, “You’ll accompany me to this party tonight. Ford’s new fragrance is looking for a global spokesperson.”
