Everyone felt super awkward. How could they just leave lan alone here? But lan just raised his hand and glanced at his wristwatch. “Come back when the quake monitoring team tells ya it’s safe.”

Maja had survived in worse conditions, with snakes and centipedes, but here it was just darkness, at least there weren’t any creepy crawlies. So, she didn’t get scared, she started feeling around the walls for an exit. But it was an enclosed space, no doors anywhere.

Was this some kind of pit? No wonder she was having trouble breathing.
