Maja heard him answer the phone, but she didn't give enough thought to its meaning. She turned to look out the window, her heart filled with worry for Holden.
However, Ian drove her back to Star Movie Group, cautioning her in the process, "You need to take care of your company affairs. The Raymond family is going to be a bit busy."
He was clearly referring to the matters of Dennis and his cronies.
Unable to help him out with that problem, Maja could only nod in agreement.
With a heavy heart, Maja entered the company building while Ian received a message from Dennis, asking him to come to Raymond Corporation.
So, Ian hit the accelerator to reach there as fast as possible.
On arrival at Raymond Tower, he directly headed to the top floor.
The atmosphere at the top was a bit eerie, as Dennis had been dealing with various documents lately. The top executives, having not seen Ian for a while, wanted to say something but didn't dare to utter a word as Dennis and his gang had just entered the conference room. Everyone expected a big event at Raymond Corporation that day.
Standing aloof in the center of the lobby, Ian scanned the crowd with a gloomy gaze before striding towards the conference room.
Upon opening the door, he saw Dennis sitting in the main seat by the floor-to-ceiling window, a seat that used to be Ian's. And at that time, Dennis sat there unabashedly with none of his top executives stopping him on his tracks.
The executives who had always trusted Ian had suffered in his absence. Seeing him at that point, they felt a sense of relief and stood up.
"Mr. Raymond, we're glad you're finally here."
"Mr. Raymond, are you feeling okay?"
Two-thirds of the executives who stood up were still loyal to Ian, while the remaining third had obviously switched to Dennis's camp.
That day’s conference room was especially lively. In addition to Raymond Corporation's executives, there were also a dozen members from the Raymond family.
Maureen and Ryan Elston were sitting together, with Ryan so ashamed that he didn't even dare to look up at Ian.
Maureen, on the other hand, held her head high, clearly having made up her mind.
Those members of the Raymond family were all supporting Dennis. They had come that day specifically to force Ian to step down as CEO and kick him out of the Raymond family.
Everyone had seen his disrespectful behavior towards elders last night.
Dennis, sitting in the main seat, rose courteously as Ian entered.
Ian had disrespected the elders the previous night, and now, he dared to show off in front of Raymond Corporation's top executives. A man on the verge of leaving the Raymond family had no right to act like that!
Everyone felt angry, but nobody was brave enough to confront him. Instead, they all looked at Dennis as if they wanted him to solve that problem.
They had all seen how Ian operated over the years. Raymond Corporation's stocks had multiplied several times under his control. If they didn't provoke him, he would not put any other members of the Raymond family in any trouble.
But he was too dominant, never respecting his elders and only listening to Holden. He rarely communicated with his father, Steve.
Since Steve's location was confidential, he was not present. His communication had been cut off, and unless he initiated contact, he probably didn't know about the changes in the Raymond family.
After sitting down, the corners of Ian's mouth slightly curled up.
"It seems our elders have something to say?"
The faces of the others turned red, but none of them had the courage to speak up first, so they all looked at Dennis.
The anger in Dennis' heart deepened. Those people didn't even dare to rebut Ian!
