Summary of Chapter 989 from Dear Ex-wife Marry Me (Maja and Ian)

Chapter 989 marks a crucial moment in Beverly Quinn’s Romantic novel, Dear Ex-wife Marry Me (Maja and Ian). This chapter blends tension, emotion, and plot progression to deliver a memorable reading experience — one that keeps readers eagerly turning the page.

Fitch strode over from a distance, a solemn expression etched on his face.

"Ian, I've been warned by the higher-ups not to dig any further into Eric's affairs."

His current knowledge was limited to what the Haskins family had shared, that Eric had been involved in human experimentation, a globally prohibited act. If the secret were out, every country involved would face international condemnation.

No one could afford such consequences.

Ian's gaze was fixed on his computer, still reading that cryptic poem, the only clue they had.

Fitch, however, shut down the computer and packed up all the documents.

"The situation with Eric is complicated. We won't get anywhere in the short term. It would be helpful if we could find someone who had recent contact with him, but we've got nothing."

Ian put down the documents he held.

"I'm heading home."

"Aren't you supposed to meet someone from the Sanders family? I heard they've been delivering meals to you recently."

Ian didn't respond to that, heading straight back to Greenfield Gardens.

Ryan was already waiting on the sofa, bearing a gift bought from abroad, a tie clip.

Ian didn't look at the gift. He first took off his cufflinks, tossed them into a box, removed his suit jacket, and then sank into the couch.

"Cousin, is that true about you and Judith? Everyone's saying you two are together. Are you over Penny?"

"Did she tell you that?"

He was referring to Maja.

"No, I just called Penny, and she sounded rather down."

"She was upset?"

Ian was a bit skeptical, pressing his lips together, "I'll find you a position at Raymond Corporation. You can start working there."

Ryan suddenly became anxious.

"Cousin, I didn't come here for that."

She hadn't posted much lately, but the few tweets she had made had seen a steady increase in comments. The last one had received two million comments.

Ian didn't have a Twitter account. Even though many people had watched his interviews before, he had never created one.

Maja had only made a few posts. He quickly scrolled through them.

He then clicked on her Facebook account. Now, he finally understood why she was reluctant to give him her personal number.

He already had it.

He went through Maja's Facebook on both her work and personal accounts. The work account had more activity, including a few posts about Coco and one about Rocky.

But her personal account was surprisingly quiet, with only two posts.

As boring as she was.

But then again, she didn't seem to have many relatives, so there probably weren't many contacts on her personal account.

A pang of pain gripped his heart.
