He bowed his head to light a cigarette, ready to exit the private booth.

Before leaving, he rasped out a sentence.

"If I'd known women could be so heartless, I would never have dabbled in love."

As he spoke, he felt a burning pain in his throat.

He flung the door open, only to find Coral standing at the entrance.

Coral was also invited to the party, her friends were already inside the private booth.

She had arrived a bit late and didn't expect to bump into Ian.

"Ian."

She called out to him, her gaze shifting inside the room.

Inside, there was only one person, Fitch.

Ian acknowledged her with a curt nod before attempting to leave.

Coral hesitated for a few seconds before calling him back.

She pulled Ian back into the booth and quickly closed the door.

"Ian, I'll only say this once."

As she spoke, she glanced around the room to ensure there were no cameras before quickly adding,

"On the day you were looking through the surveillance footage at the BlueSky Bar, I ran into Maja. She was dressed as a waitress and seemed to be hiding from someone. Most importantly, she was blind. I had a gun to my head that day and didn't dare to tell you this."

Coral let out a sigh of relief after rushing out her words.

"Act like you didn't see me tonight. I have no idea who those people were, they were rough with Maja and they made her eat something."

Ian's cigarette dropped to the floor as he furrowed his brows, feeling as if his head was splitting.

"You're saying she's blind?"

"Yep, she bumped into me in the hallway, recognized my voice and asked me to help her to the car. I was going to take her away but then another group of people showed up. They were brutal and forced something down her throat. Everything I'm telling you is true."

Coral quickly left after speaking her piece.

She had to be cautious because of the threats from those people.

Ian stood in place, feeling as if a tsunami had hit him.

He recalled when he was about to sign a contract with Eric, Maja sat in Eric's arms the entire time, even wearing a hat.

At that time, he thought she was determined to be with Eric, so she purposely avoided him.

But Ian had been avoiding everyone, so when Patric heard about the meeting at the Raymond Corporation, he immediately set off, bringing along a few members of the Morris family for some excitement.

Just as he was 500 meters away from the villa, Ian sneaked in.

The surveillance went blank for thirty seconds, enough time for him to disguise himself.

He disguised himself as one of the bodyguards. He had done this kind of work during his time in the army, it was second nature to him.

After changing into the bodyguard's uniform, he also tied up the actual bodyguard and gagged him, leaving him in a hidden spot for his people to deal with.

Thirty seconds later, he had assumed the identity of the bodyguard and the surveillance was back to normal.

The staff in the villa initially wanted to check for any glitches, but seeing that everything was back to normal, they didn't bother.

The bodyguard Ian had replaced had a half-face of red scars. Ian had come prepared with a fake scar and a bodyguard uniform.

Half of his face was tan, the other half was covered in swollen red scars, even his handsome face looked grotesque.

He made a round on the first floor but didn't spot Maja. He then headed to the second floor and immediately noticed a few bodyguards outside a room.

His heart pounded uncontrollably and one of the bodyguards yelled at him.

"Clown, hurry up and bring tonight's dinner in. Don't starve the lady inside."
