Cristina was still wailing loudly but froze upon hearing the conversation. 

Neil’s mind was a mess, the intense pain reminding him of the day he had caught Cristina and Carter together. 

Through it all, Maja was the epitome of calm. But even she didn’t expect this surprise turn of events. Cristina had been messing around with Carter? 

She bit her lip gently, “Take a good look. This is your great wife, your wonderful daughter. You’ve never believed a word I’ve said; any little thing Cristina says, you’re ready to hit me. This man lying in front of you, I don’t even know him, but just because Cristina says he’s my lover, you won’t even give me a chance to explain. It’s been like this for years, and I’ve had enough.” 

She lowered her head, her tone indifferent, and solemnly handed the recorder to Neil.
