Don’t be upset, Ms Pennyfeather” 

The bodyguard mistakenly took Maja’s silence for being taken aback by lan’s harsh words. 

Maja let out a sigh. 

“Dad wants to go home, have him taken back when he’s sober. You guys better look after him well, don’t let anyone bother him, especially not his parents” 

“We understand” 

The bodyguard was very respectful. Ever since Cristina’s death, Maja had been handling the Pennyfeather family affairs, and now she also took over the company shares, becoming the rightful heiress. 

After instructing them a bit, Maja had the driver take her home. 

It was two in the morning. 

She returned to RosenGarden and looked at herself in the mirror.

She washed her face, then went to the Pennyfeather group. 

This time, she went to see the cleaning lady. 

The cleaner was not tall but was still diligently working. 

Maja stood beside her, the cleaner stopped her work and hastily greeted, “Ms. Pennyfeather.” 

“Come to my office” 

The cleaner thought for a moment, then followed Maja. 

Once in the office, Maja sat down. 

She had a fever today, and her lips were a bit pale 

“The tea you spilled for me–was it poisoned?” Maja’s eyes were sharp, staring right at the cleaner. 

The cleaner stiffened and hesitated for a while before admitting it. 

“You were there yesterday, you knew it was Tom”

“I’ve reported to the police; I need you as a witness; do you still have that cup of tea?”

Maja was a bit surprised; this cleaner was quite thoughtful. 

“Good, you go to the police as a witness; also, were there others involved in this?” 

The cleaner named a few people, all of whom were on Maja’s list to fire. 

She looked at the cleaner with a meaningful gaze, and after a while, she asked, “Have we met before?” 

The cleaner’s hands trembled slightly; a look of hesitation and unease crossed her face. After a while, she said, “I was Ferris Pennyfeather’s wife.” Maja was surprised. 

No wonder when she saw the cleaner at the company before, she felt familiar but couldn’t remember where she had seen her. 

That was a long time ago, and when Maja saw her, she was being whipped by Ferris with a belt, curled up on the sofa, not daring to move.
