“He said he likes me. I think he’s sick!” 

“Maja, if you agree to him, I’d cut ties with you instantly. When you hurt your hand, he chased away Phelps. If anything had happened to your hand, your life would have been ruined. What right does he have to say he likes you.” 

Maja downed the glass of wine in one go. This was the first time she had opened up about her troubles since Neil’s death. 

And it was about lan’s disgraceful behaviour. 

“I won’t like him. You don’t know about him.” 

She fell silent at this point. 

Carol patted her shoulder, “I understand. lan’s looks and background are great, it’s fine if he’s just a bedmate, but if you really fall for him, he’ll ruin you easily.” 

Maja didn’t want to talk about him anymore, “What about you? Is Felix’s cousin willing to have surgery? It’s been months. If she keeps this up, even the best specialist can’t save her.” 

Carol’s face fell, sighing.
