He was just wearing a towel, his upper body completely bare. 

The smooth lines of his chiseled muscles became even more prominent as he leaned back, exposing his Adam’s apple. 

He sat quietly for a while before slightly turning towards her, propping his own head up with one hand. 

Maja also turned to look at him, shivering slightly under his intense gaze.

“Penny, be my girlfriend.”

He spoke while lightly brushing her lips.

She got up to go to her bedroom, but lan yanked her back. 

“Explain yourself!” 

Maja’s rationality suddenly disappeared. She shook off his hand. 

“Because doing that kind of thing with you makes me sick! I don’t even know how many women you’ve slept with.” 

The word “sick” was like a sharp knife, making lan unable to move. 

It hurt more than any gunshot wound he had ever had. 

He got up, and without hesitation, he pinned her against the wall. 

“So who wouldn’t make you feel disgusting doing that kind of thing with? Your ex–husband? Or those guys in the elevator? You forgot how I just saved you. How can you be so heartless!” 

lan had never been so angered, even thinking about how he still saved her knowing that she had made a deal with Carl, his anger was even more intense. 

But when he saw her fierce expression; his anger instantly subsided, only feeling a sense of helplessness. 

After a while, he said, “Am I not good enough?” 

When he asked this question, he lowered his head, and his tone became gentler, “Or did I treat you badly before?” 

“Indeed, Mr. Raymond, you used to look down on me, belittled me. I once hated you, but tonight, I am truly grateful to you.” 

Looked down on her? 

Belittled her? 

He didn’t remember doing anything, but he believed she wouldn’t lie. 

No wonder she made a deal with Carl. Did she really hope that he would disappear? 

lan opened his mouth, awkwardly letting her go.
