Maja wasn’t planning on sleeping tonight. She answered the call with politeness in her voice. 

“Mr. Raymond.” 

“Penny, I,” 

He wanted to explain that he got held up tonight, that he didn’t intentionally forget, but Maja cut him off. 

“Mr. Raymond, it’s perfectly normal for you to be busy. Don’t worry about it.” 

A pang of guilt hit lan. Did she always see him as someone who didn’t keep his promises? 

He didn’t know how to respond to that. 

“Mr. Raymond, if there’s nothing else, I’m going to hang up now.” 

“Penny,” He couldn’t help but call out, “Can you meet me now?” 

The fireworks were still going on. 

“No need, I’m a bit tired. Mr. Raymond, you should get some rest too.” 

With that, Maja hung up. 

lan sat there, listening to the dial tone, looking at his food that had turned cold, and sighed. 

Maja buried her head under her blanket after she hung up, trying to force herself to fall asleep. 

She shouldn’t have had any expectations. That was her fault. 

The next morning, Meetman contacted her, asking her to come to the company to review the web series–they had finished filming. 

Maja immediately focused on her work and hurried to the company. 

They only had the first five episodes, but the production quality was high. She gave Meetman a hefty budget, but she was surprised by the quality of his work. 

“Ms. Pennyfeather, we’ve already submitted it for review. Once it passes, we can broadcast it.” 

They hadn’t done any publicity, but Funfly Darcy had been buying ads for The Storm. 

Maja’s lips twitched a smile, “The production quality is great, let’s wait for the review to pass.” 

Meetman was full of excitement. His first web series since his return was about to be released. 

“Also, Meetman, I’ve rented a few houses for the company’s artists. You can pick one. The renovation proposals are ready. If you’re in a hurry to move in, you can do a simple renovation with second–hand materials. That way, you won’t have to worry about formaldehyde.” 

Meetman had been wanting to bring this up with Maja, but he didn’t have the guts. 

He was still living in the red–light district. If the media found out, it would be a big story, harmful to the company. But to ask Maja to find him a place to live seemed a bit too much to ask for. 

He was surprised when Maja brought it up by herself. 

“Meetman, which floor do you prefer?” 

Maja took out the building blueprint and let him pick. 

Meetman picked a middle floor, his lips trembling slightly. 

“Mr. Pennyfeather, thank you.” 

Maja smiled, “I’ll do my best to ensure a good living quality for you guys. You just need to do your best at work. If the company signs new artists, I’ll arrange for them to stay here too. I’m negotiating with property management companies, hoping to find à responsible one. That way, we won’t have outsiders randomly entering the complex.” 

Choosing a good property management company was important. But most companies provided similar services. In Greenfield, there was a great company, but they mainly provided their services for the upper–middle class. 

These people either lived in big apartments or villas. The small complex Maja rented, with each house only about 60 square meters, was not their target 

clientele. 

So, Maja might have to pay a hefty price for their service. Only with enough payment would they agree to provide service. 

Just as Maja was about to let Meetman leave, she saw him receive a call and his face turned pale. 

“What’s wrong?” Maja asked. 

“Ms. Pennyfeather, our web series got stuck in the review process. They won’t let us continue filming. If we can’t pass the review, we can’t continue filming.” 

Maja frowned. The topic of the script was good, why did it get stuck? 

Maja immediately called Tyler, wanting to know what was up with the review people. 

Tyler chuckled, “You’re talking about the script for The Storm, right?” 

Maja didn’t expect the news to travel that fast. 

“Yes, Tyler, did you hear anything?” 

“Maja, Funfly has connections Inside the review department. I suspect she may have seen the content of the episodes you’ve filmed. As long as she doesn’t agree, the series can’t pass the review” 

Maja felt a chill. Having been in the industry for so many years, it was possible for Funfly to have such connections.
