“Didn’t Murray ever tell you about this?” 

“Murray was worried about the kid disturbing me, and his mom shared the same concern, so the child has been staying with other relatives.” 

Suddenly, a daring idea popped into Maja’s head, but she realized she had no proof and doubted Zoey would believe her. 

“Zoey, go home right now and get a strand of hair from both Murray and the kid.”

Zoey didn’t speak, just rubbing her forehead. 

“It’s late now. I’ll bring them tomorrow.” 

“Alright, I’ll give you the day off tomorrow.” 

“Thanks.” 

Maja could see she wasn’t okay and wanted to say more, but Zoey clearly didn’t want to talk. She turned and headed into the house.. 

Just as she was about to enter, she saw Murray coming out. 

“Murray, where are you going?” 

“My boss needs me for something; I have to go to the office.” 

Zoey glanced at the time. It was nearly 10 p.m., and he was going to the office? 

Maja’s words had planted a seed of doubt in her mind. She quickly said, “I’ll come with you. I need to work on some documents on my computer.” Murray’s expression changed instantly. “Zoey, are you still doubting me?” 

“No, I just want to be with you, Murray.” 

“We’ve known each other for so many years, and you’re doubting me now? Who’s more important in your heart, me or your boss?”
