The cool breeze outside didn’t bother him. If anything, it helped to cool him down a bit 

A sum of twenty grand was not something he’d usually fuss over, but right now, he was studying the document, word by word, line by line. 

Maja stood there, a bit impatient. “You could have the finance department handle this. You don’t need to go over it yourself.” 

“Twenty grand is still money” 

His expression was deep and calm He didn’t look up at her as he spoke, as if he was hiding something 

A gust of wind blew by, and Maja sneezed. 

He turned around. “Want to come in for a bit?” 

“No need” 

Maja flatly refused, then urged, “I’m heading back to my room. If you find any issues, just hit me up on my cell. I’ve already cross–checked it with Mr. Judson. There should be no problems” 

“Maja.” 

He couldn’t help but call out to her. 

Maja turned around to look at him. 

He stood tall at the door, his features sharp and striking. His face was a mask of cool aloofness. 

Who would have thought he was just doing that thing in his room? 

“Is there a problem, Mr. Raymond?” 

lan could see the impatience in her eyes and felt a pang of disappointment. 

“I just wanted to talk more with you. I’ve had Connie sent to the mental hospital.” 

But all he got in response was Maja’s retreating back and the sharp sound of a closing door. 

If he hadn’t known she was just there, he could have mistaken it for a hallucination. 

As expected, she didn’t care. 

Even if she knew he followed her here, she wouldn’t be moved. Just annoyed. 

Maja’s body was the most honest thing in the world. He could make her yield beneath him with just a bit of force. 

But her heart was as hard as a rock. Even in the most intimate moments, she could spit out cold words. 

Her body was like sweet honey, and her words were as sharp as a knife. 

In that moment, lan had the urge to barge into her room. 

He didn’t care who she gave her heart to? As long as her body was his, it was enough. 

Why thought so much? She didn’t like him after all. 

But who would she like? 

The thought of it being Samuel, Shawn, or Beck made him almost insanely jealous. 

Back in his room, seeing the tissues in his trash can and remembering how his body reacted to her voice, he felt like a freak. Would there be more of this in the future? 

On the other side, Maja lay on her bed, still feeling annoyed. 

But seeing Daly’s box, she instantly cooled down. She had to leave first thing in the morning, and she had lots to do. 

She got up at five the next morning, just to avoid running into lan 

But just as she opened her door, the door next to hers opened too. 

Her face instantly darkened. She had a feeling lan had been up all night, waiting for her to come out. 

She quickened her pace, not looking back at him, and rushed to the building’s front door. After getting into her car, she floored the gas pedal. 

She didn’t leave immediately but first delivered Daly’s box to her uncle’s home. 

The seals at her uncle’s home had been replaced. She unlocked the door and placed the box on the table. 

She figured no one would come to this house again. 

After exiting and locking the door, she returned to her car 

This time, she hit the highway straight away. But through her rearview mirror, she could see that the car behind was lan’s. 

A hard to describe anxiety filled her heart. She subconsciously felt like this guy was really stalking her. 

But she had no proof, and lan wouldn’t admit it 

This was just too awful!
