The sun is high, glowing and sharing its warmth to the earth. Sweat drips down my face, my mouth opens getting in huge puffs of air. My morning run helps clear my mind off last night's nightmare. My family that I killed coming back to haunt and torture me in dreams is something I need to get rid of.

Running back to the packhouse, I see Elriam smiling, waiting with a towel in hand.

"Good morning Alpha, how was your run today?" She asks politely.

"Great, thank you, Elriam."

I don't run with wolves unless it is necessary like hunting, I prefer to run alone. "Is everything set and ready for us to leave?" I ask her wiping the sweat off my chest.

"Yes Alpha, we may leave now." She waits for my answer. "Alright I will shower and get ready, then we can leave."

Keeping my bag next to me, I put my shades on and start the car driving first while my Beta and warriors follow me at the back. The drive takes about three hours including three stops for food and toilet breaks. Reaching the mansion I get down from the car waiting for my wolves to get ready and follow.

The air is filled with testosterone of Alpha males talking with one and another holding their Lunas. The chatter comes to a complete stop with an eerie silence as they regard me with surprised, disgusted and calculating eyes. They know me, they know of my battles and the strength I possess.

Straightening my back, holding my chin out showing dominance I walk through the crowd right into the hall of seats for the main Alphas and plop down on the chair next to the head of the table. Elriam stands behind me showing her strength looking from one alpha to another. I smile wickedly to the Alphas and whisper to Elriam "This is going to be fun."

With agonizing slowness, the hall begins to fill up each wolf holding different expressions whilst they regard me, and for any male that gazed longer, my wolf roared and paced within disliking their open thoughts of us. Unfamiliar faces and the curiosity about the owner of the seat next to me build up my anxiety to be in crowds and among unknown wolves. I take in deep breaths and encourage myself, asking my wolf for her strength and guidance.

A male's voice alarms us whilst his words boom across the hall to set me free from my thoughts, making my ears perk up to welcoming.

"Welcome Alphas. The meeting shall commence shortly for he is not yet here, therefore we shall begin when he arrives." I don't understand who this male is talking about.

Wolves nod in acknowledgement except for me. I do not know whom this male spoke about. Glancing to my left, I notice the seat is empty. It waits patiently to be filled. I am unsure as to why, but abruptly my heart pounds heavily with anticipation. Something is not right. A feeling that scares me but also leaves me breathless.

"Elriam answer me this, who is this wolf talking about? Is this male important?" I question her.

"Alpha he is..." She begins.

However, before she could finish her answer a loud slam of the main door cuts her off, startling all of us. Loud heavy footsteps near the hall, the sound of chairs screeching against the floor surge. Alphas leave their seats getting off their chairs to kneel upon the marble floor with their heads bowed.

Who is this male? What kind of power does he hold that even other Alphas bow, even before he is in their presence? These questions burn within the depths of my mind.

The door to the hall opens and a deep rich enticing scent drifts around to saturate the air, a warm scent that catches my attention instantaneously. This male who enters forces my knees to tremble, bones to weaken, my body sways side to side. I cannot think straight. All I see is him, all I feel is him.

A muscular figure comes into view and my soul is brisk to beckon him, my wolf pacing, wanting to be set free. She claws at her barrier urging me to unleash her. His bulky beastly body oozes testosterone and dominance sculpted to be the strongest. I can see why they fear him.

This male is mine; this male holds all my attention.

My body erupts in flames to the heat of his flesh that strides towards me only to lay his fiery eyes upon my skin. I slowly inspect him, from the tips of his shoes up to his strong thighs, over his tight shirt that shows a delicious preview of what is hidden, to his bulky arms, sharp and high cheekbones, his full lips and finally his eyes. He is truly bewitching.

An instant lust takes over, my core wet, wanting this male to rest between my aching thighs. He smells the room, his nose flaring sniffing to figure out my scent. This male does not understand it, my true essence. He takes another curt step towards me as though wishing to comprehend me; a sharp intake of breath escapes my lips. I welcome him promptly whilst my heart opens wide to embrace his but disappointment is swift to come to bound me.

The male shakes his head in denial and stepsback as though he were fighting within himself.

As though he is displeased with what the moon has gifted him with. No wolf saw our exchange, their heads bowed. His hands turn to clenched fists and his voice thunders in the hall making a few wolves whimper with dread.

"Why are you not kneeling female?" He questions, his voice unyielding and crisp. I am pulled out of my trance by his tone.

"I bow to no one but the moon," I respond baring to him the inner strength I possess and meet his flaming eyes without flinching. No one dares to mutter another word or raise their head yet I know they are waiting in anticipation. They are ridiculing my strength for they know this male shall make me submit.

Everything outside ceases to exist and in it only he and I remain. The entirety of my being leans towards him shamelessly. He has such a palpable effect on me from the heart and at the same time so irritating that it makes me lightheaded and weak.

His hands shake, a furious look burns in his eyes to his surging rage. His wolf wishes to come forward to the surface to hold and meet me yet this male opposes it. I close my eyes and raise my chin, waiting for what would happen next. He inhales deeply his chest heaving calming himself before he delivers his truth.

"You will learn, I will show you your place." When he steps close enough, the heat that constantly radiates from him envelopes me and cages me to him.

I tremble visibly to his words yet when my eyes flutter open, he has already sauntered past me. His wicked truth still lingering upon his godly face. Halting at the head of the table whilst his eyes wander through the wolves bowed down. "Rise." He orders, his authority surging and all the wolves jump to their feet briskly paying heed to his command standing upright in attention.

Whilst the Alphas' sit back upon their seats, the discussion commences at once. A smooth meeting that progressed wildly. The wolves present pay keen attention to my mate's words unwavering and engaged in the talk. Voices of discussion went one after another in the conference hall, every wolf spoke what they wished to. All except me.

I merely sit quietly in my seat and do not utter a word. I do not wish to be like this, but I just could not focus. I put in my every remaining energy to pay attention to what was going on but how could I when the male sitting next to me at the head of the table consumes my thoughts. I am sure to the other Alphas present I seem like a scared, pathetic fool. Only the moon knows that all I can think of is the male to my side, who is a fatal temptation to me.
