A few days later, I stumbled upon a news video about Antonio and Yvonne.

He had beaten her so badly that she was hospitalized. He was now facing a two–year prison sentence for that.

After Antonio was imprisoned, he kept requesting to see me.

When he reached out through the prison authorities for the tenth time, I finally agreed to visit him.

I brought Josh Quinn along.

Josh, a year behind me back in university, and I hadn’t seen each other in a while.

Surprisingly, he was transferred to our office, and there was an instant spark between us. Not long after, Josh confessed his feelings for me, and we started dating.

When Antonio saw Josh, he got very agitated. “Grace, you never really loved me, did you? Did you fall for this guy long before we broke up?” he asked, his voice quivering.

I glanced at Josh with a gentle smile before turning to Antonio. “Yes, I had a crush on Josh back in college.”

Gripping the iron bars, Antonio’s voice rose. “So what was I to you?”

I chuckled. “You? You were just a mistake. Stop contacting me. I’m moving on with my life.”

Antonio slumped to the ground as if all the strength had drained from him.

I stood up, holding Josh’s hand, and we walked away.

Two years later, we ran into Antonio at the mall.

Josh was carrying our baby girl.

When Antonio saw us, his face turned ashen.

It took him a moment to compose himself.
