“So, since we have what you want, doesn’t that give us a little bargaining power?” Nemo asked.

Killian’s eyes narrowed, his voice icy. “Hand them over and maybe I’ll let you die quickly. If not, once all the air gets sucked out of this place, you’ll be begging for it.”

Chloe stared in shock. When did her mentor end up with the pendant she thought she’d been carrying all along?

Killian’s tone dropped even colder as he turned to Grant. “Grant, what are you waiting for? Bring me the key.”

Grant, who’d been standing off to the side like a statue, finally moved. He reached inside his jacket and drew a gun, pointing it straight at Nemo.
