Linda suddenly felt a tight grip around her neck, like a vice clamping down hard. For a split second, she couldn’t even process what was happening. Just moments earlier, Lucas had been perfectly fine. What on earth had caused this sudden shift?

She had never seen Lucas like this before. Lucas came from a wealthy family and always carried himself with a sense of aristocratic pride. He was known for his humility and kindness.
