Chapter 730 novel Don’t Fall for the Billionaire Lover
After a two-hour drive, they finally pulled up to the Paradise Resort project site. Lucas was nowhere to be found.
Gavin, the executive manager, came rushing over with a cheerful grin. "Mr. Connor, what a surprise! What brings you here today? Our project director is out inspecting the site. I can call him for you."
Connor waved it off, speaking casually, "No need. We're just here to have a look around. If you could just get us a tour cart, that'd be great."
Gavin quickly arranged for a cart, and soon they were off.
It was getting dark by this time, and everyone was curious why Mr. Connor seemed so upbeat. After all, most people would visit a site like this during the day. What could he possibly be doing here at night?
But Chloe knew the reason. They were about to leave this place soon, and Connor had a special connection to the resort. Maybe this was his way of saying goodbye.
Sitting side by side in the tour cart, Chloe and Connor took in the sights. The construction site was bustling with signs of ongoing work, but you could already catch glimpses of the resort’s future glory. The place was massive, with various themed zones scattered throughout.
Connor didn't linger at any of the other sites. He drove straight to a spot called "Wutong Tales." It was actually a man-made island, connected to the mainland by a single bridge. The island was a sea of towering sycamore trees—a vacation haven themed around these majestic trees.
Some of the trees had quaint little cabins perched on them, others had swings swaying gently, and a few housed small taverns beneath their branches. There was Mr. Fox’s Pub, the Fruit Family Fun Park, and Miss Ostrich’s Ice Cream Shop—each with a whimsical, fairy-tale charm. The designs were dreamy, full of cartoon animals right out of storybooks, creating an enchanting atmosphere.
Stepping onto the island, Chloe felt like she had wandered into a fairy-tale world, surrounded by her beloved sycamore trees. It was all so incredible.
Connor joined her, explaining, "This is the wishing tree. Once we open, VIP guests can write their wishes on a card, pop it in a bottle, and hang it here."
He reached up, plucking a star bottle from the tree. "Why don't you make the first wish?"
Connor, always prepared, handed Chloe a pen from his pocket. She smiled, took it, and quickly scribbled a few words on the card before slipping it back into the bottle. She hung it back in its place with a satisfied grin.
Connor couldn't help but ask, "What did you wish for? Come on, let me see."
Chloe shook her head defiantly, a playful glint in her eyes. "Nope, can't do. You know the rules—if you tell, it won't come true."
