She felt like the world was spinning out of control. Suddenly, she found herself back in a forest cabin from decades ago. Standing at the door were seven menacing thugs, each holding a rope and inching closer with sinister grins. Claire let out a frantic scream, her mind racing as she grabbed a handgun from the desk and fired wildly at the door.

Connor hadn't expected Claire to have a gun stashed away, but he reacted quickly. With swift movements, he dodged the bullets and in a flash, was by Claire's side, snatching the gun from her grip. In the blink of an eye, the barrel was aimed right at her head.

Claire's entire body trembled, but her mind was clearing up fast. The hallucination faded, and she could finally see Connor's face and the gun pointed at her. Connor looked worn out, his expression a mix of disappointment and hurt. Even though he'd long given up on any hopes with Claire, her instant reaction to shoot at him had nearly shattered him.

"Do you really need me dead to feel satisfied?" Connor's voice was icy, cutting through the tension in the room.

Hearing the gunshots, Claire's bodyguards burst in, only to find Connor holding a gun to her head. They quickly drew their weapons, aiming at Connor.

Claire broke the silence, "You walked into this, so don't blame me for being ruthless."

Connor didn’t flinch. He turned to the bodyguards, mocking, "Claire probably can't even afford to pay you anymore. Why risk a murder charge for her?"

The two bodyguards exchanged uneasy glances but kept their weapons trained on Connor. Claire laughed, dripping with sarcasm, "Connor, trying to turn my own people against me? That's a bit naive, don't you think?"

Connor pressed on, "Tomorrow, Eldridge Entertainment is going under. Once Claire goes bankrupt, she'll be swamped with debts. Are you sure you want to stick around for that?"

Connor chuckled, "They're leaving the industry. What do they care about being blacklisted?"

The bodyguards moved to stand by Connor, "Mr. Connor, we're ready for your orders."

Claire erupted into laughter, "Connor, do you really think you've won?"

Connor smiled, calm and collected, "It seems so. Oh, and by the way, sis, forgot to mention—I bought The Garden."
