As the two were chatting, Teddy walked in, looking a bit troubled. Connor immediately sensed something was off. Seeing Teddy hesitate, Connor suggested, "Let's step outside."

They moved to the balcony, where Teddy broke the news. "There's been a situation at the hotel. The manager got a threatening letter saying there's a timed bomb planted in the banquet hall."

Connor's expression turned serious. "What's going on exactly?"

"It seems to be a prank. I've already called the police, and they've checked the place out but didn't find a thing."

Teddy continued, "I thought you should be in the loop."

Connor took a moment to think, his brow furrowed. "I need to see for myself. If there's any risk, we'll have to call off tonight's wedding reception."

Teddy nodded.

When Connor returned inside, he found Chloe asleep on the sofa, the room warm and cozy. He didn't want to wake her but knew he had to head to the Eldridge Hotel right away. He called Cassie over since their next stop was the hotel anyway. With Chloe resting, she could catch a few more winks.

Connor and Teddy made their way to the hotel. The manager handed Connor the threatening letter. It was typed, leaving no handwriting to trace.

Connor asked, "When did this come in?"

"About an hour ago, delivered by a drone. We checked the surveillance footage but didn't spot anyone suspicious. The drone was modified; we couldn't track it."

Teddy dialed several more numbers, but no one picked up. He was sweating bullets. "Something's definitely wrong there. What should we do?"

Not knowing the situation there, Connor told Teddy to take some people to investigate and notify the police.

Could Claire have escaped? Was this letter her doing? But that seemed unlikely to Connor. She was there this morning; how could she have arranged all this? St. Mary's Hospital was heavily guarded, with two bodyguards he had stationed there. How could there be a mistake? Even if someone let Claire out, she couldn't have vanished without a trace.

What on earth was going on?

Teddy rushed to St. Mary's Hospital and quickly called Connor with an update.
