A flicker of disappointment danced in his eyes. "I thought maybe you had different feelings for your junior."

"You taught me, Master, that everyone can be betrayed and used," Grant's voice was as cold and hard as ice.

"So, why are you here today? You've decided to use her as a pawn, so why bother saving her now?"

Grant's tone remained steady. "Because she hasn’t reached her full potential yet. She can't die now."

The old man asked, "How far along is she?"

"Five months."

"So, you want to know how to ensure she delivers safely?"

Grant replied, "I don't care if the child makes it. I just need her to survive."

A sharp glint crossed the old man's eyes. "Grant, her condition is congenital, and extremely risky during pregnancy.
