“Brother, what are you trying to do?”

Ebby suddenly saw the madness in Clark’s eyes.

Clark instead just laughed, “Look, the Close family has committed too many sins through the years, no? Taking into consideration all of the ordeals we have gone through in the country, and although at first glance we were guided by our grandfather, it was still us in every missions. We all have parents, and if you stand in the shoes of our victims, wouldn’t you feel that you don’t have a conscience?”

“Conscience? Brother, what are you saying?”

Ebby stared hard at Clark and scanned her surroundings. These people were all victims of the Close family.

It was not easy for them to train so many men throughout the years which exhausted most of their wealth and energy. Now, they were all summoned by Clark to this place, which made her feel a little unease.

Kelly was in a frenzy too.

“You unfilial thing, I have given you the reins of those men so that the Close family will have a way of backing out when things get dangerous. What are you trying to do now?”

“We are going to get buried together and die together. After all, this is what Alison wants to see. In my life as a father, I can’t even leave behind anything meaningful for my child. I thought leaving her with some wealth would give her a life without worries, but now I realize that my child isn’t even concerned with that at all. She just wants the Close family to be destroyed. If that is the case, I will make it come true for her. However, my Alison is a girl, I can’t let her hands get bloodied, so I will do it for her.”

Clark was very serene when he spoke as if he was talking about the nice weather of the day. On the other hand, both Kelly and Ebby was scared out of their wits.

“You unfilial son, did you lose your mind?”

“Brother, you can’t do that!”

However, Clark put on an innocent expression, “Why can’t I do that? I think it’s the best for everyone. Alison is right, the people in the Close family all have great sins. This is the only way we can seek salvation and wash away our sins. Maybe we can even secure a good chance in the next life. If there is a next life, I will never lose my child anymore. I will hug her tightly and won’t let her get taken away by anyone. I won’t let her suffer a difficult life.”

As he spoke, his words slowly turned into a fit of laughter. His face was an expression of satisfaction and longing.

“Brother is crazy! Dad, he’s brainwashed by Alison! He’s out of his mind! You men of the Close family, get lost! Go get that bomb in his hand. Fast!”

Ebby didn’t want to die just yet.

She was only in her forties. How could she die?

She still had a long life ahead of her.

However, those men seemed like they were deaf to Ebby’s words. They had flooded the whole place until there was no way of escaping.

Ebby’s expression drastically changed, and so did Kelly’s expression.

“You unfilial son, are you trying to kill your own father?”

“So what? I am dying with you too. I will make peace with you when we are in the afterlife.”

As he said that, Clark removed the safety on the bomb.

Ebby immediately screamed at the top of her lungs due to shock.

“Clark, you maniac! I want to get out! Let me get out!”

She started to run outside like crazy, but those men under Clark’s command opened fire and shot her on her leg.

The intense pain caused Ebby to stumble onto the floor as she lost her footing.

The usual noble and majestic lady was now a picture of embarrassment.

Kelly was completely startled too as he tried to get out of the house, but now that Ebby was shot, he was utterly shocked and his feet had glued to the ground.

Clark looked at the safety which was making some mechanical sound and produced a sarcastic smile.
