With Samuel’s help, Nicole arrived at the hospital of the military region.

Initially, Nicole had thought that Lucas was seriously injured. She trotted to the operation room but was told that there were no operations today.

As she thought, she wanted to take off Lucas’s clothes. However, Samuel stopped him.

“Hurry up and speak. Where is your injury? Don’t make your mother worried!”

Lucas was already in his twenties. How could Samuel let Nicole undress him?

That would be pretty embarrassing.

Lucas, however, was still in a trance. He only heard buzzes in his ears as if the recoil force of the gun still worked in his ear. He had tinnitus.

Right then, he could only see the lips of Nicole and Samuel parted and closed, but he couldn’t hear what they said exactly.

“Nicole, why don’t you get him some food? I didn’t see any food around here. I guess he must be starved.”

“Okay. I’ll buy some food. You just stay here with him.”

Nicole looked at Lucas’s lonely figure, feeling a sharp pang in her heart.

Seeing that Nicole had gone, Samuel asked, “What kind of mission were you assigned to make you need the psychological counseling? What on earth has happened to you?”

However, Lucas seemed to not hear him. He was still standing in front of the window, lost his thought.

“I’m talking to you, Lucas Green!”

Samuel raised his voice, but Lucas still didn’t react.
