Samuel met Olivia at the door.

"What happened to Nicole?" Olivia asked.

Samuel said coldly, "She has a fever."

"A fever? Oh my, it's all my fault. I shouldn't ask her out with me yesterday. I shouldn't take her to the bar."

Hearing this, Samuel stopped abruptly.

"What did you say? Nicole was there with you in the bar yesterday?"

Samuel's face was very frightening. Olivia was shocked and said, "Yeah, we sang together in the bar at first. But then Nicole said that she felt a little uncomfortable and went to the bathroom alone."

"When did it happen?"

Olivia was at a loss, facing Samuel's sudden query.

Olivia realized that Samuel was angry. She thought that Nicole fell ill because of her. She hurriedly apologized and said, "I'm so sorry. I promise that it won't happen again."

"Not your fault. Come to the hospital together and take care of her."

"What?"

Olivia thought she misheard Samuel.

She wondered why Samuel asked her to take care of Nicole.

It had always been Samuel who took care of Nicole.

Olivia suddenly recalled that Nicole once told her about Samuel having an affair.

Olivia squinted at Samuel.

"Samuel, tell me the truth. Are you having an affair?"

"No."

Samuel answered firmly. He then stopped talking to Olivia and left.

Olivia was stunned.

'Samuel seldom told lies and cared so much about Nicole. He wouldn't cheat on Nicole.' Olivia thought.

She didn't understand and followed them worriedly.

Samuel took Nicole to Steven's house.

"Where's Ashley?" he asked.

Steven was surprised that Samuel suddenly came and looked for his wife.

"No, you can't just barge into my house and ask for my wife without my permission. I am still here."

"Stop talking nonsense. My wife has a fever. Ask Ashley to take a look."

Samuel placed Nicole on the sofa.

Nicole had already fallen asleep because of the high fever.

Steven was amazed and said, "My wife is the Greatest Global Scalpel. But she specializes in surgery. She just returned home and has slept for a while after the surgery. It's just a fever. You can take Nicole to the hospital!"

"There are too many germs in the hospital. My wife is pregnant. She needs protection."

"Your wife needs protection. My wife should be working hard for her whole life, right?"

Steven disagreed with Samuel.

Samuel stopped arguing with him and said, "Will you help me or not?"

"No. My wife operated on Nicole's younger brother last night. It was almost midnight when she came back. She was called for emergency surgery at 5 a.m.. She did three consecutive operations a day. Now that she has just returned and slept. She needs rest. I can't wake her up. Samuel, please be a good man. It's just a fever. Why don't you take her to the hospital? Or I can call a family doctor for you."

Steven intended to make a phone call, but he heard a noise from the room upstairs. It was Ashley walking out and rubbing her hair.

"Why is it so noisy?" Ashley asked.

"Nothing. You should go back to sleep."

Steven hurried Ashley into resting.

But Ashley saw Nicole lying on the sofa.

"What happened to Nicole?"

Ashley asked and walked down quickly.

Steven's face turned gloomy.

He said, "Go back to sleep. We can handle it. I'll call the family doctor and he'll be there soon."

"Don't call the doctor. Nicole will probably become worse before he can arrive. I am afraid that the baby may be affected. Go to the guest room and get my medical chest." Ashley said.

Ashley walked directly to Nicole and touched her forehead with both hands. The fever made her frown.

"Why is Nicole having such a high fever?" she asked.

Samuel pursed his lips and didn't say anything. But Ashley saw Samuel's self-blaming expression.

"Did you upset her?" she asked.

"It's a misunderstanding. But I can't explain it right now."

Samuel's words made Steven depressed.

"It's the first time I've seen you quarrel like this," Steven said.

"We didn't quarrel. We didn't even question or argue with each other," Samuel replied.

Samuel's face darkened again.

Ashley sighed and said, "Nicole always hides everything in her heart. Such a woman is easy to get hurt. You should know her personality and stop messing up things."

"I know," Samuel said.

Samuel never listened to a lecture. But he listened to Ashley and would follow her words.

Steven felt annoyed when he saw this.
