Chapter 221 

Emmalie threw herself into Ivy’s arms and sobbed softly. “I knew you cared about me, Mom.” 

This scene almost made Thea laugh in anger. 

She thought, ‘Of course, she cares about you.‘ 

The way Ivy cares about Emmalie was to give everything Thea had to Emmalie. 

Ever since Emmalie returned to the Rowland family, Thea had to give everything to her. 

She was fine with some of that, however, she could not allow them to walk all over her. 

With a cold expression, Thea said, “Divorce is impossible. When I got married to Nicolas, it was true that we had our own reasons, but now that we like each other… You want me to give him to you? Emmalie, stop dreaming.” 

Her solemn face was pale, but it was exquisite and moving. 

Ivy slapped thea and said, “Bastard! Do you think Nicolas will be with a woman like you who not only cheated on him, but can’t get pregnant for the rest of her life? 

“The Hendrix family cares about its bloodline the most. Nicolas is the person in charge of the Hendrix family. There are too many people who want your position. Can’t you care for the Rowland family for once?” 

Thea’s heart skipped a beat. She wondered what Ivy meant by she couldn’t get pregnant anymore. 

Thea’s eyes were filled with sadness. Ivy chose to turn a blind eye to it and said, “Don’t let outsiders take this from you. Will it kill you to have your sister have her way for just once?” 

Thea felt that she was extremely heartbroken. 

She pointed at the door and said in a shrill voice, “Get lost!” 

After the caregiver came in for her shift, she happened to see this scene. 

She said, “Who are you? Mr. Hendrix has instructed that no one is allowed to disturb Mrs. Hendrix’s rest. Please leave! Otherwise, I’ll call for help.” 

Although Ivy and Emmalie were unwilling, they still left awkwardly. 

Before leaving, Emmalie said, “Thea, don’t worry. When I become the legitimate Mrs. Hendrix in the future, I will never forget the sisterhood between us. I’m a soft–hearted person. Thea threw a glass at Emmalie. Her sobbing voice was mixed with endless anger. “Get lost!” 

Her wound was stretched as a result, and the pain pierced through her heart. However, it could not compare to the pain her heart felt. 

Ivy would not joke about such things. Therefore, Thea knew that Emmalie was telling the truth. 

Thea liked children and had always dreamed of having a child of her own. 

When she was first pregnant and did not know Nicolas’s feelings, she had already made up her mind to let the child be born into a loving family. 

She might not be able to provide as much material as Nicolas could, however, she would make sure that her child would not

The killing intent in Nicolas’s eyes was real. Stephanie’s body trembled. “Nicolas, my whereabouts have always been under your control. How can I control the public opinion on the Internet?
