*Call Sandra back, Ellison finally spoke, breaking the silence in the car. 

William stiffened at the mention of the name. He asked, “Mr. Elson, Sandra… isn’t she a bit too… intense?” 

Ellison paused for a beat and weighed the situation. 

Joycelyn sensed something was different. She asked, “Sandra? A rl?” 

“Yes,” said Ellison with a nod 

Joycelyn chuckled and leaned in a bit closer to him. 

Her long eyelashes fluttered, and her clear eyes were filled with gaftiness. She teased, “It looks like she’s a girl you’ve known for a long time. Who is she?” 

“Someone I consider a younger sister,” Ellison replied and his expression did not change. He was calm and composed. 

Even if Joycelyn leaned over and stared at him for a long time, his expression did not change at all. 

He was the type of man who kept his composure no matter the situation, and it only made Joycelyn intrigued 

There were always women in Ellison’s circle — friends, business associates, acquaintances. He rarely spoke about them, and they certainly never made it to the forefront of his attention 

But Sandra… that name alone piqued her curiosity. It was sweet–sounding, almost disarmingly so. She must be someone extraordinary. 

“I’m looking for a bodyguard for you. Why are you trying to be nosy?” Ellison saw that Joycelyn was already in front of him! so he simply reached out to hold her small face and pulled her forward. 

Joycelyn was caught off guard and was kissed by him. Her face subconsciously turned red. 

William is still driving!‘ she thought. 

She reached out and slapped his hand away. Without the support of his hand, Joycelyn fell into his arms. 

“Ouch,” she gasped, her face pressed against his muscular chest. 

Her actions and reactions were like that of a young woman. 

“She’s the girl Luna picked up from the hospital. Luna’s son and daughter–in–law used to be close friends with my parents but they died in a car accident. She’s the little girl Luna picked up from the hospital morgue.” 

Upon hearing this, Joycelyn was stunned. She looked up at him, her heart aching for Sandra. She did not know how to comfort him.

“She’s 22 years old this year. She looks sweet, but she’s tough. She’s been practicing martial arts since she was a child and has fought masters abroad. She rarely comes back, Ellison replied. He was not immersed in the pain of the past. 

He looked at Joycelyn in his arms. His clean and slender fingers micked her hair behind her ear. 

His action was gentle and doting.

Joycelyn did not move. She stared blankly into his eyes. 

He was noticeably more sullen when he brought up the past. 

“Isn’t Luna worried about her?” Joycelyn asked. 

He replied, “She is worried, but no one can hurt her. Sandra promised to

come back after she turned 22 to take care of Luna her retirement. She was supposed to return at the end of the year, but with our wedding coming up, she will come back earlier. 

William couldn’t resist chiming in. “The only one who can take on ten people is Sandra.” 

Joycelyn’s curiosity only deepened. 

“Can you beat her?” she asked, glancing between Ellison and William. 

Ellison and William tacitly fell silent. 

“Mr. Grant has practiced martial arts. He’s quite skilled. I used to be a martial arts athlete, and I have a black belt in Taekwondo. If we team up… we could win,” William said very implicitly. 

Joycelyn was shocked. 

She exclaimed, “That powerful?” 

Ellison nodded. 

Joycelyn’s eyes lit up. She was even more curious about Sandra now. 

“She won’t do anything to a girl, so I can rest assured,” Ellison let out a sigh of relief. 

“I’m looking forward to it.” Joycelyn was extremely intrigued. 

As the car pulled closer to the company, Joycelyn wanted to get out of the car and walk for a while to avoid being discovered.

“Mr. Grant,” he greeted.

Joycelyn couldn’t help but laugh softly. She knew Ellison had done that intentionally. 

“Are you being a little too obvious!” she teased, her tone playful, but her eyes sparkled with admiration. 

Ellison, with his unmistakable aura of authority, stood tall, commanding the space as always. There was no denying the powerful magnetism of a man who radiated dominance. 

Everyone liked strong people, especially women. 

“He deserved it,” Ellison replied, glancing at her through the mirror in the elevator. 

His eyes met her clear gaze. Her gaze was filled with admiration and was tinged with a little infatuation. 

“We’re here,” said Ellison. 

“Ah!” Joycelyn blinked and was slightly stunned. It took her a second to process that he was teasing her. 

Seeing her adorable expression, Ellison let out a chuckle. 

Joycelyn could not help but punch him, though it was more out of playful frustration than real anger. 

After all, there were only the three of them in the elevator. Willian acted like he was facing the wall and reflecting, so he did not see them at all.
