The police officer said, “We’re from the Emberbrook Police Department. One of your employees has accused you by name for tax evasion, misappropriation of company funds, and bribery. Please come with us for questioning.”

Sean felt like he’d been struck by lightning.

At 9 a.m., Quintessa woke up, grabbed her phone from under the pillow to check the time, and sent Snow a quick message on WhatsApp before planning to get up. But as she moved, she realized, why was she naked?

Turning her head, she saw a man lying next to her.

That man, with a sinister look, resembled the cuckolded husband.

“You scared me! When did you come? Now you’re so skilled, climbing into bed without making a sound.”

Tyrone replied coolly, “Yeah, if I hadn’t been quiet, I wouldn’t have known that the first thing you do when you wake up is text another man.”

Tyrone had arrived an hour earlier. Getting Quintessa’s room key from the hotel reception was a breeze. Who wouldn’t help a handsome and wealthy guy?

Quintessa sighed, “I saw it and just happened to reply.”

She finished speaking, furrowing her brows. Was she explaining herself?

Before, she probably wouldn’t have cared about him at all.

“When did you get here?”

Tyrone wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her close, “Right when you were sleep talking and calling my name.”

Quintessa widened her eyes, “You’re lying. How could I possibly talk in my sleep?”

“You did. And you sounded so sweet calling my name. Call me once more, and you’ll find out!”

Tyrone spoke as if it were true. If Quintessa didn’t know she didn’t talk in her sleep, she might have been fooled by him. Quintessa pinched Tyrone’s cheek, “Babe, cut it out.”

Knock, knock, knock. The urgent knocking sounded.

“Quinn, time to get up! You’ve got work at 10!”

Tyrone’s face instantly darkened, and Quintessa, smiling, pinched his chin, “Sweetie, let go. I need to get ready.”

“Tsk, that kid has ruined my plans more than once.”

Tyrone was as dark as ink, no wonder Quintessa said so kindly that if he could finish before Manny arrived, he could go along with her.

Damn it, Manny came so early , without even giving him a chance to get started!

After Quintessa got ready, she smelled something delicious. Her stomach growled as she sniffed the air and asked, “What’s that smell?”

Tyrone, leaning against the headboard, responded, “Cecilia made ribs this morning and insisted I bring them to you. I’m starting to wonder if I’m even her real son.”
