"At a time like this, cut the drama. A little glass cut won't kill you, and it's better than going up in flames with the car."

Quintessa didn't care about the possibility of being cut by the glass. Seeing the flames leaping from the front of the car, she yelled, "No time for chit-chat, the car's on fire!"

Tyrone and Alexander each grabbed one of Quintessa's arms, and pulled her out with force.

As Quintessa slid over the hood of the car, she felt a searing pain, as if her skin could get scorched in an instant.

She gritted her teeth, and finally, her feet hit the ground.

"Let's move." Tyrone pulled her and they started running.

They hadn't made it two steps when a loud bang echoed from behind them—the car exploded, sending a blast of heat their way. Tyrone and Alexander shielded Quintessa beneath them.

Reuben and Manny were the closest to them at the moment. They too felt the heatwave but weren't harmed.

Reuben paused for a second, then shouted, "Call an ambulance, quick."

As the two ran towards Quintessa and the others to help them up, the car exploded again.

Quintessa was pinned down low, her face pressing against the asphalt road; the small protruding stones made her face ache, and the weight on her body was immense.

Her mind was so clear that she could hear her own heartbeat.

After a while, when the car had stopped exploding, Tyrone lifted his head. He pushed Alexander aside, helped Quintessa up, and hurried to a safer spot.

Without saying a word, Tyrone checked Quintessa's arms and legs; spotting several cuts likely from the glass, and finding her face show signs of abrasion, he frowned deeply.

"I'm okay, how about you guys?"

Alexander got up, saying, "If you're fine, that's good."

The fire truck was the first to arrive, and the firefighters quickly extinguished the flames with their hoses.

Soon after, the ambulance arrived. The three of them, having sustained various degrees of injury, got on the ambulance together.

But before boarding, Quintessa told Manny.

"Make sure to secure that wrecked car, and call the cops."

The director was surprised, "Why call the cops?"

The last thing the crew wanted was trouble.

Quintessa pointed at the car, "The brakes and the lock mechanism were faulty. Once you shut the doors, they wouldn't open. Such a significant safety hazard went unnoticed? I can't help but suspect this was sabotage."
