"What's stopping you? You two aren't actually siblings, and he’s always been the kindest to you. Plus, Mrs. Fiona is such a sweetheart. If you ended up with him, I'd rest easy. Though I know, he's no Rupert…"

Naomi mulled over her thoughts, her words gaining momentum as she spoke.

Sylvia grabbed her mother's shoulders with a firm grip and shook them slightly. "Mom, do I really need a man to complete me? I don't want anyone! And if you keep pushing me, I swear I'll just marry the next guy I meet on the street."

"Look at you, getting all worked up. I just want what's best for you. Isn't it nice to find a good man and settle down?"

"Can’t I have a good life on my own? Why do I need a man for that?" Sylvia retorted.

"I... I can't argue with you. Just go to bed."

Naomi waved her hand in resignation.

Returning to her room, Sylvia lay on her bed and let out a sigh of relief. After a moment, she remembered her phone, which had been turned off.

Digging through her bag, she hesitated before summoning the courage to turn it on, bracing herself for a flood of notifications. But instead, her phone was eerily quiet.

Checking her DMs, she found that the abusive messages that had been there before were now retracted, and some even included apologies.

In just a few hours, Bridget, who had been reveling in her supposed victory, found herself losing hundreds of thousands of followers and facing backlash from her own fans.

It all started when Sylvia posted an apology letter.

Bridget’s fans, not satisfied with harassing Sylvia, went as far as to berate the hospital for inaction and Chris for treating Sylvia, whom they called a witch.

Chris, however, was not just a doctor but also a man of significant influence and connections. Bridget’s fans had bitten off more than they could chew.

Their efforts backfired when footage from the hospital’s surveillance camera, positioned directly outside Sylvia’s room, was released. Though the angle was tricky, it captured both Bridget and Sylvia in the frame.

The audio was intermittent, but it was enough reveal the truth- especially Bridget’s vile threats towards Sylvia.

“Sylvia… I won’t post them online… sharing…privately with… for a laugh is just as satisfying... What a wretch...”

Under the surveillance camera, Sylvia’s face turned noticeably pale upon hearing Bridget’s words. Then, she slapped Bridget twice, adding that a foul mouth deserves a slap.

However, the footage of Sylvia slapping herself wasn’t released.

Chris followed up with a clever statement:

[Let's be rational viewers, shall we?]

This subtly implied that Bridget had earned the slaps.

But when she saw the professional legal notices shared online, she knew it had to be the work of a highly efficient team.

Who could it be?

Then, she remembered Warren telling her not to worry.

Checking Twitter, she was about to thank Warren when she noticed a photo he posted.

Feeling a flush of warmth, she quickly sent him a message.

[Warren, thank you.]

[For what?]

[The legal notice.]

Warren paused for a moment before replying.

[Glad you're okay. About that photo I posted, if it bothers you, I can take it down.]

[No worries, you’re my brother, after all.]
