“You… You're just jealous of me! Can't even keep a man!” Christine slammed her purse on the table.

“Hmph.” Eloise snorted with disdain and walked away, not bothering to entertain such a trivial accusation.

“What do you mean by that? Explain yourself!”

Christine lunged towards Eloise, only to be stopped by her assistant, Bella.

Bella called out, “Security, take her away, and oh, her trash too.”

Just like that, Christine was escorted out.

Sylvia was unfazed by the drama. After all, Christine had brought it upon herself.

While buried in her work, Sylvia noticed Bridget sitting across the room, covering her mouth as if she was feeling unwell, then quietly excusing herself when no one was looking.

Sylvia found it odd but before she could ponder further, her phone vibrated.

“I’ll be home tomorrow, you coming over?”

“Yeah.”

“I’ll make your favorite dish. Come over early and keep me company.”

“Sure.”

Sylvia smiled at the message, planning to spend her day off moving the last of her belongings from the Garcia residence to her apartment.

Not that there was much left.

Living with the Garcias had always been a nerve-wracking experience for her. Once she moved into the dorms, she couldn’t wait to get all her stuff out.

All that remained were some fancy clothes and jewelry that Edwin and Naomi had given her, which she didn’t care much for. They were reminders of the Garcia household.

Perhaps out of a sense of obligation, the couple insisted she keep them, and only then did she agree to go back and retrieve them.

By the time Sylvia looked up from her phone, Bridget had returned to her seat, showing no signs of distress.

Sylvia didn’t think much of it after that.

“Are you sure? Wouldn’t want to impose. Your mother is expecting you,” Fiona looked concernedly at Sylvia.

“It’s no trouble at all. You and Warren have been nothing but kind to me. It’s the least I can do.”

Sylvia helped Fiona into the car and headed to the hospital.

On the way, she texted Naomi to let her know where she was headed. Naomi didn’t make much of it and simply asked her to come back soon.

Upon reaching the hospital, Sylvia noticed the driver parked in a somewhat secluded area.

“Why park here?” she asked, puzzled.

Fiona explained, “It was my idea. I didn’t want too many people to see me. There’s a side entrance here that leads directly upstairs, avoiding the main entrance and the crowd.”

Sylvia considered it for a moment and then nodded in agreement, “Makes sense. Let me help you.”

“Thank you, dear.”

As they made their way inside through the clinic’s side entrance, Sylvia noticed the area was mostly populated by women. Looking up, she realized they were near the gynecology department.
