She couldn't keep her composure and blurted out, "Rupert, your neck…"

As Sylvia heard this, her interest was piqued. She really wanted to see how Rupert would handle being questioned by the woman he loved.

Peeking discreetly, she found herself caught in a profound gaze that unnervingly suggested danger and aggression.

Rupert, with a calm and collected demeanor, gently touched the mark on his neck and casually said, "Bumped into something."

Sylvia felt a heat rush down her spine, quickly shut the door, and leaned against it, trying to catch her breath.

Outside the door.

Bridget was shocked; it was the first time Rupert had ever brushed her off like this.

"Is there a problem?" Rupert lowered his eyes, his slightly disheveled hair falling over his forehead, giving him a rebelliously charming look.

"Not at all."

Bridget forced a compliant smile, turned and left the bedroom, her hurried steps betraying her inner turmoil. She knew the sounds she had heard through the door couldn't have been made by just one person.

That woman was in the bathroom! And Rupert was covering for her!

Who could she be?

A flash of fury crossed Bridget's eyes as she caught sight of a handbag peeking out from behind the couch.

She strode over quickly, recognizing what it was.

It was Sylvia's bag! Again, her!

Too fuming to maintain her good image, Bridget kicked the bag, sending its contents scattering across the floor.

As she looked at the mess, her gaze turned even colder. After all, Sylvia, with her disabled hand, wouldn't need these things anymore!

Listening to Bridget's receding footsteps, Sylvia cautiously opened the door, only to find Rupert leaning casually against the door frame, hooking a small object with his hand.

Her cheeks flushed as she reached to snatch it, but the man pinned her against the door.

The steam from the bathroom enveloped them, their body heat rising in the charged atmosphere, adding a layer of intimacy.

He leaned in closer, "What were you saying earlier?"

Bridget was pondering how to explain her presence in the house when Rupert dialed the number for the Garcia Manor.

The butler answered, "Mr. Rupert Garcia."

"Fire the maid in charge of the pantry."

"What happened?"

"Can't even differentiate the coffee. What use is she?"

"Understood."

After hanging up, Bridget didn't dare to even breathe too loudly. She had instructed the maid to switch the coffee because she preferred that particular blend, and also because Sylvia disliked it.

Clutching her fists, she couldn't be sure whether Rupert's call was deliberately made for her to overhear. She couldn't fathom what was going on in his mind.

Arriving at school, Bridget didn't linger in the car as usual but hurried out immediately.

Rupert, seemingly indifferent, instructed the driver to leave.
