Michael threw away his snacks and grabbed Jane’s arm, trying to pull her out of Zachary’s embrace.

Zachary replied, “You’re renting my store, aren’t you a business partner?” 

Jane, with her free hand, flicked her hair and smiled. “You can take that back. I’ll just have Charlotte find another store.”

Though they called each other friends, everyone knew Charlotte was more important.

He softened his tone and glanced at Michael. “I’ll clear the place, you let him leave.”
