Early in the morning, Norma had the driver pick up Briana. After breakfast, Norma held Briana’s hand.

“Briana, you’ll stick with me today. I haven’t attended many parties in recent years, so I don’t know many socialites. You’ll introduce them to me later.”

Briana nodded, “Okay.”

“I hoped Ms. Schneider could persuade my grandmother. She has always liked you the most, she would definitely listen to you.”

Briana furrowed her brow, remaining silent for a few seconds before finally speaking, “I’m afraid I can’t help you with this.”

Isaac chuckled lightly, slowly saying, “Ms. Schneider should know better than me what it feels like to be with someone you don’t love. I don’t want to waste anyone’s time, nor do I want to put on a show in front of my grandmother.”

Briana’s grip on the book tightened unconsciously, her fingertips turning pale.

She was about to speak when a cold voice sounded from outside the pavilion.

“If you really didn’t like grandma’s arrangements, you should have talked to her yourself. What’s the meaning of making things difficult for my wife here?!”

Both of them turned their heads at the same time, only to see Maxim walking into the gazebo with a cold expression.

It was not until he sat down next to Briana that he coldly looked at Isaac, his eyes devoid of any warmth.

“Briana was shy and didn’t like talking to strangers. If there’s nothing else, you could leave now.”

Isaac chuckled, giving Briana a meaningful glance, and said with a smile, “Today, I have offended Briana, I hope Briana won’t mind.”
