The next morning, Briana received a phone call from Norma.

“Briana, I received an invitation from an old friend to go to a resort this weekend. Are you available? Would you like to come with me? I heard we can go horseback riding and there is also an amusement park there.”

Norma didn’t want to go originally, but after hearing about these projects, she thought she could take Briana to relax and maybe even bring Maxim along, hoping to repair their relationship.

A hint of surprise flashed in Briana’s eyes. She thought for a moment and realized that she indeed had nothing to do over the weekend, so she agreed.

“Sure, should I come pick you up or meet you directly at the resort?”

“I will go to the villa to pick you up.

Briana hesitated for a few seconds and finally spoke up, “Grandma, actually I lived in the north of the city now.”

Norma frowned, “You and Maxim separated?!”

Thinking about their current relationship, Briana didn’t know how to tell Norma, so she vaguely said, “It’s not a big deal. It’s just that this area is closer to my current company, so I decided to live here.”

“Nonsense! How can a married couple live apart! Now that Kiley has returned, what if someone takes advantage of your absence?”

“If you had really handled things well, you wouldn’t have separated. I’m going to call Maxim, and if he doesn’t bring you back soon, I won’t let him off the hook!”

“Grandma…”

Norma hung up the phone before finishing her sentence.

Briana was dialing when Norma was already on the phone with Maxim.

She sighed with some helplessness and put her phone aside to start getting ready.

When I finished getting ready to go out, I realized that Maxim had sent several messages.

“Briana, what did you tell Grandma about Kiley?!”

If she had known that Maxim was also going, she would have refused Norma at that time.

Just as I got on the car, Maxim suddenly leaned over.

Norma watched from behind, her heart filled with worry. Judging by the looks of it, the conflict between the two of them was far from small.

In the past, even if the two of them had conflicts, Briana would not have been so cold to Maxim.

Silent all the way until they reached the entrance of the resort, Briana only then realized that Norma had deceived her about meeting an old friend.
