Vivian was shocked and sprang up from her chair. "Carson, your nose is bleeding!"

Carson frowned slightly and slowly raised his hand to wipe his nose.

His hand was instantly covered with blood.

Grace hurriedly turned on the lights.

Carson's face was pale. Suddenly, he narrowed his eyes and slowly fell down.

"Carson!" Vivian shouted.

Carson was then taken to the hospital.

After the diagnosis report came out, the doctor said, "The patient has leukemia. Why didn't he pay attention to his health? If he continues to overextend himself, his life will be in danger."

Just then, Daisy rushed to the hospital and heard what the doctor said.

She cried out in anguish, "My son! Why are you so unlucky? It's all your fault, you jinx! Why did you make your brother work so hard? Are you trying to kill him?"

The doctor said, "The patient needs to rest. You guys need to cool down and talk things out. Don't make a scene in the hospital."

After that, the doctor and nurses walked away.

Daisy cried for a while and then vented all her anger on Grace. "You jinx! You heartless wretch! You know your brother is sick, but you still let him do such strenuous work! What were you thinking?"

"Mom, I didn't..." Grace said aggrievedly,

Daisy screamed, "Jinx! Get out! Get out! Your brother won't want to see you when he wakes up! You're a nuisance! Get out!"

Daisy only knew that her son ended up like that after working for Grace, so she blamed everything on Grace and started hitting and kicking her.

Seeing this, Vivian quickly intervened. "Mrs. Sherman, please stop hitting Grace. If Carson wakes up, he won't want to see you blaming her."

Since the hospital didn't require her presence, Grace worked late every day, as if punishing herself, leaving herself physically and mentally drained.

That day in the afternoon, Vivian brought Joy to the hospital.

Upon learning about Carson's illness, Joy became extremely worried. Seeing the man lying unconscious on the bed, tears welled up in her eyes, but she stubbornly refused to let them fall.

Daisy saw the child with Vivian and asked curiously, "Whose child is this? She's so pretty."

Vivian thus explained Joy's background. Daisy squinted at Joy for a while and asked Frederick behind her, "Why do I feel like I've seen this kid before?"

Frederick also stared at Joy for a while and said, "She does look familiar."

But no matter how hard they tried, they could not remember who Joy resembled.

Joy barely spoke in the ward. The way Daisy looked at her made her very uncomfortable.
