"Honey, let the boy deal with his mate. We wouldn't want to overwhelm her, right?" My father said trying to reason with her.

"Paul hush your mouth." She ordered. "I was in labor for fourteen hours and you would think that you would appreciate it and let me meet my daughter-in-law." She argued.

"Mom, please. I will let you see after she is well and I finished my talk with her. I would really appreciate it if you, dad, and Lily would stay at the pack house until further notice."

"Fine but," I groaned. Of course, there was a but with this woman. "I want to plan the welcoming ceremony for her."

Knowing my mom I knew this party was going to cost me a pretty penny but at this moment, it was worth it to get her out of my hair. "Fine mom, anything you want. Now if you would please leave, she should be waking up soon and I want to be there when she does."

"How come Linda get to see her and I don't?" She asked annoyed as I lead her and my father to the door.

"Linda is level-headed and you're not," I mumbled.

"What did you say?" She turned around quickly.

"Nothing mom." I kissed her cheek and waved to them as they got in the car and pulled off.

I shut the door and turned to see Linda descending from the stairs. "She's woke."

I nodded. "Thank you, Linda."

"I will prepare some lunch for you guys."

"Thanks."

With that, I made my way up the stairs.

When I opened my eyes I was in an unfamiliar looking room. It had navy blue walls and a white and navy blue comforters. Across from the bed, there was a 50 inch TV that was hung on the wall. My eyes soon drifted to the other side of the room where a woman sat.

She had dark brown hair that was pulled up into a loose bun and she looked to be in her early thirties. She wore jeans and a red and white plaid button down shirt with flip flops. In her hand held her cell phone that she was currently typing on which caused her not to notice me.

"Who are you?" She looked up at me. "And where am I?"

"You're my mate."

"You already said that. What's exactly is a mate?"

He stood in the middle of the room. "A mate is someone who you are destined to be with for the rest of your life. It's why you feel the sparks when I touch you or why you're always thinking of me."

"Who says I think about you?" I snapped.

"Do you not?" He eyed me.

I couldn't answer because I knew it was true, I did think about him a lot. And the sparks that I felt when he touched me were definitely always there. No, this couldn't be true. Maybe I was dreaming or maybe I actually died in that car crash along with my father. That had to be true because werewolves are not real, and I'm not Ryan's mate.

"What are you doing?" Ryan said as he walked closer to me and pulled on my hand that was currently pinching myself. "Stop that!" He ordered.

"There is no way this is possible." I used my other hand the one Ryan wasn't holding and pinch myself again. It wasn't working he was still in front of me and I could still feel the sparks running through my body.
